Indeed, we may bitch about Ferrari (and Mercedes, the way it's going this year) Team Orders, but at least they're honest about it (aside from confusing Kimi on the radio by saying everything BUT "Move over for Seb" :p )

The teams like Red Bull that say they believe in equality but secretly favour one driver over the other behind the scenes are worse imo.

TBH, with regards of Red Bull. I think he would be able to force the team to get behind him as I can see Verstappen cock things up and Daniel getting way ahead of him by default.

Mark Webber led much more of the championship in 2010, but Red Bull still massively and overtly favoured Vettel. I never realised until now just how much time Webber spent ahead in the standings - there is an excellent points progression chart here: http://f1.dg42.net/?year=2010

It's the same story in 2014 - Ricciardo led Vettel in points for most of the year, but was never their #1 driver.

It was quite telling that Renault said that they haven't been listening to Red Bull since 2015. You can read that both ways.

They were both dicks to each other. Red Bull with the stance that hey we have the best designer in the game so we are they best team, no possible way that there can be design flaws. And Renault with fingers in the ear, we won't have any one tell us that we have designed a piece of shit.

But Ferarri's engines were even worse than Renault's in 2014. Each season has seen the Ferarri engine develop and improve to the point that it was the worse of the lot in 2014 to being now probably the best. And Renault? Stagnant and the same gaps as usual..no actual overall improvement. Combine that with the fact that Red Bull were against these very engines in the first place while Renault threatend to quit unless it got what it wanted and then delivered and continues to deliver sub par engines, charging through the nose for them while steadfastly refusing any outside assistance....

No wonder Red Bull acted like they did.

But then on the other hand Dan has chosen Renault over Red Bull. The best of a bad bunch?

According to Zak Brown, Ricciardo had serious talks with McLaren. Could this be a hint Alonso is leaving?

It has also emerged that he was talking up Sainz last week.

If he was free, and if we had a seat, he would certainly be high up on the consideration set.

Add this to him also enthusing about how much IndyCar would love Alonso and how much Alonso would love another go at IndyCar...

The internet would love it, but he can't be fucked with the whole branding stuff he'd have to do.

Or bring back competition with different tyre suppliers

You can't call for lower competition costs and also want a tyre war. The two do not co-exist.

Nah this is easy if you think outside the box a little. No limit on the amount of tyre suppliers, but they have to use tyres from another category they already supply :flag:

yoohoo ultrasoft tires that last one lap, super soft tires that last 12 laps and hard tires that last the whole race but 15 seconds slower than the soft one. see desperation on team principals faces

All I know is under these rules, 2012 was the greatest season in F1 history. 7 different winners out of the first 7 races can't be wrong, and every damn race that year was entertaining.

Yet, people still bitched *shrug*
