in italy they boo anything that is not ferrari, don't make it racist or political.
Didn't mean to make anything of it, Just found it & Hamilton's response to it a little amusing.

You can also look at Alonso, They cheered his engine failure in 2006 & cheered just as loudly when he won for Ferrari in 2010.

i was just making things clear since in the past i've heard people calling italians racist cause they booed hamilton and he is black, while in fact if hamilton was driving a Ferrari and even more winning with a ferrari he would be loved just like any other driver of the past.

and in 2006, i was right there in 1st chichane watching the race and i remember it like if it was today, i've heard the crow go mental like that only in a stadium when the home team scores a decisive goal, the noise of the engine was overshadowed by the noise of the people, it was mental.

I liked the race, the scrambled grid had so much passing that I would expect in a regular race

that's what we need, a qualifying with random start positions (with Mercedes starting at the back obviously)

I didn't think this one turned out too bad. The action behind 1st and 2nd was pretty good by Monza standards.

Luckily the wishes of some people that other drivers hit Hamilton once again did not materialize! Hamilton won! The championship is starting to end. It will also start to get more boring ...

Just got back from the circuit. I left around 3:30pm when they kept on announcing further information after 15 minutes. The rain had completely stopped from 2:35pm to 3:00pm. They could've easily have finished Q1 within that time and part of Q2. Glad I didn't wait it out until 4:40pm as I was fucking soaked and cold. Kudos to all the fans who waited it out that long though. Hoping for an eventful race tomorrow rather than a procession.

How was the atmosphere on the grandstands this afternoon?

The fans were subdued but remarkably patient. They really started to lose it when they announced the 3rd delay at 3:00pm. Many started to walk out then and everyone just sounded restless. I'm glad I didn't stay until when they finally resumed qualifying though as I was fucking frozen and soaked.

To answer someone else's question, yes I did bring a raincoat. I was at Monza in 2008 and I have awful memories of that weekend so now I always carry a raincoat with me to GPs hah! But the rain yesterday was actually really heavy at parks and walking long distances through the park to the bus area gets you properly soaked. The shittiest part is definitely walking through the wet mud.

Some journalist recently posted this on Twitter and sums up my thoughts on the Italian Grand Prix in general:"Every year the Italians seems surprised that they have to organize a grand prix event."

Interesting, thanks for your POV! I can only agree with the tweet as well, it's more like an unorganised picknick instead of an event

I'm not 100%, but I think its the sound of the tyres clearing the water.

EDIT: It gets louder the faster they go, so I think that's it.

Cool, thanks!

I think it's the turbo because I also heard it today during the race. Maybe high humidity intensifies the noise. But it would be an interesting question for a brief TV segment in the build up.

Any idea why McLaren didn't bring in Stoffel to change tyres? Even Alonso who was on hard tyres pitted before Stoffel who started on softer tyres.

Could it be to try to put Alonso in front of him to please the Spaniard? Because I can't find any reason why they didn't change tyres the same time like the Torro Rosso who was just 1 sec in front of him.

I was surprised to see him flying commercial too. I got him to autograph my F1 Racing mag and he was pretty nice about it and even waved bye after. I should've asked him for paddock passes hah!

Hahaha this is great :D I probably would have been peeking at his iPad all the time. Cool to hear he was pleasant.
