Maybe if everyone keeps complaining, NASCAR will also re-reconfigure the championship system back to a cumulative, season-long points method that they can save face on by pretending it's somehow an "update."

I like how they aren't calling the OT deal a rules change but a "procedural" change. Maybe NASCAR can just call it that?

I know it's hard to comprehend, but Kyle being in a truck has A LOT to do with his team's success.

That's without question. But the issue is the Truck Series' success, of which there isn't any. It's dying on the vine.

What bugs me the most is media people and fans defending the lower series dipping because of what a huge help it is for the young drivers to see how they 'measure up against the vets'.

And here I always thought that was to happen when the young drivers made it to Cup, not the other way around

I don't think anyone is shocked by that. I think moving Byron into the 5 would be way too early. I can see Kenseth as a 1-2 year stop gap.

Camping World and Xfinity having over 90% of their schedule as a companion race to a Cup event is apart of the problem. Send these guys to other tracks. Namely tracks Cup doesn't run on.

Also get rid of the splitters.

I think both the Trucks and Xfinity schedules should have a huge amount of short tracks (< 1 mile), maybe a couple of road courses and the only big tracks should be the restrictor place tracks, once a year for each. Maybe one 1.5 mi cookie-cutter, just so they get a taste of what's to come in the Cup series.

They don't need to go at huge racetracks, they can use a lot of the tracks that ARCA races on, and even make a huge event out of it, with ARCA, Trucks and Xfinity. It'll help the tracks and the series.

Oh, a keep the trucks at Eldora.

I didn't used to buy into the 'spend more time in lower series before Cup' argument but seeing how Joey floundered after being rushed compared to how well Chase has found his feet after spending an extra season in NXS, I'd agree with keeping Byron in NXS a year longer and let Kenseth ride out a season in the #5 instead.

Still looks more like the production model than the NHRA Funny Cars do compared to their models, lol.
