Reynolds got a great start, while Lowndes and Coulthard got into it on the first lap.

Coulthard locked up and spun Slade, he'll be in trouble for that I think.

That was a big save by Lowndes.

Whincup has won his first race of the season. McLaughlin was right behind him though.

Queensland Raceway will be staying on the calendar, which is good news for me since as shit as the racing is there it's a very good place to spectate (unlike Surfers Paradise, where you hardly see anything if you're not in a grandstand)

Rather see them stay with V8's, but the V6 doesn't sound too bad at high revs though

I think they sounded better (at least on the onboard camera) maybe 15 years ago. The current ones sound a bit less gutsy to me. I will still be disappointed if everyone switches to V6s, I like a good V8's sound more then anything else. Having said that if we get a situation where there are both the turbo 6s and the V8s then I would be OK with that (we probably will for a season or two at minimum), it would make it a little more interesting.

Here is some external footage of the V6 Holden incidentally:

No, that's the Sandman that they did up for fun a few years back. AFAIK it's basically one of their V8 Supercars, except it's got a panel van body. Obviously they're now using it as a test vehicle for their new engines.
