Davison should be in the car period, but I guess Esteban is bringing some money, yes?

And that is something Dale desperately needs (money I mean).

I'd say Stefan Wilson is still owed a ride (as I will continually until he is given what he is due) but I don't think he has any oval experience and tbh I wouldn't want him thrown in at fucking Texas of all places.

If Esteban is that rich can't they find an old CART car or Crap Wagon or hell even the 2 seater and run it around a test track for a day to give him the required oval experience without breaking the test ban?

No they need to drive the present car, otherwise you'd have people turning up to Indy with a Formula Ford wanting to do a rookie test

It's actually a rather sensible rule, after all we all know what happened the last time they let a bunch of rookies onto an oval without any practice.

I'd totally watch a live streaming of that testing session. More viewers than Alonso's.

I'd watch a low downforce, low power Indy test as well :flag:

I guess Davison pissed him off?

Vautier was not who I was expecting for Texas.

I'd be shocked if Davison ticked Coyne off to be honest

I would think it's sponsor-choice or who has more backing for that race. Gutierrez had one of his personal sponsors on the front wing at Detroit.

Either way, both Davison and Vautier are good choices on ovals I think. Both have past history with the team, both have ran decent on them as well.

What Coyne needs is someone in the car who won't be hard on it and tear anything else up while they work to replenish their spare parts list. One care was completely destroyed and they used up a lot of spares at Indy. For a small team, those expenses cannot be recouped in one swoop.

Ironically, Pippa Mann would seem a logical choice here - despite her finishing down the order on many occasions, she doesn't exactly crash very often.

I say ironically, because the budget problems DCR must now be facing have probably priced her out of her usual extra oval races this time :(

Another new full-time team is possible for next year, that being a 2nd car for Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing

Too many road and street courses.

I'd like to see her doing one-offs at Indy, though.

She really wasn't that bad and got a lot of flack for a few reasons. Now, i know at least 85% of the forum had/has a hardon for Simona de Silvestro but her results weren't that great. She sure seemed more pleasant than Danica though.

If thats your indication for me liking either of the two more than the other, than I'd like Danica a lot better. :D

If you're gonna mention a difference in results you also need to mention that Simona was stuck in an Indy Lights powered car while competing in a full Indycar season at literally the same time Danica and her team had massive (in Indycar terms) amounts of funding.
