That was a hell of a lap from Lewis!

Did someone mention in the Melbourne thread that they have worked on their camera angles this year? The changes of direction seemed much more apparent, even allowing for the new rules.

Yea, Lewis nailed that one well and truely and with passing seemingly so hard this year, his ability to bang out those laps will be very crucial

Hamilton absolutely nailed every apex. They switched to Bottas's onboard as he finished his lap and he seemed almost frightened of the apex down at the hairpin.

I would have to watch it again, but on DiResta analysis(youtube), it seems he lost the apex at least some 4 times there. Bottas indeed lost the apex at the hairpin but was still the fastest on S3.

Man, tomorrow the whining about Whiting will be fun :D

They reckon they have made a deal with the police (probably more literally than in some other countries!) to use the same hospital as the Porsche Supercup under escort if need be.

This hospital didn't have the neuro equipment that was needed, so they are moving it all there for tomorrow.

Can someone explain why the Chinese have the airspace on lockdown?

I suggest saving this because it's on 50 FPS

So, Charlie will be covered on the hospital side but I bet we'll still get tones of laps under SC.

Hope for fully wet race with no(initial, at least) SC and I predict mayhem and a win for Bottas as he was great on Canada Qualifying(2013 or 2014) on a wet track

Lewis and Vettel are gonna crash, not necessarily with each other, but hope both will be out

People are bashing RB for being slow here(even when compared to Renault, as only 0.5s faster instead of the 1.5s on Melbourne) but maybe they went with wet setup. Depending on the lottery with the SC and stuff, even Verstappen could win this, if that's the case.

McLaren will be praying for a wet race, so they have less disadvantage with their Group N Honda Civic engine

Gary Hartstein is rather angry about the steps taken with the medical facilities. Given his experience and former job, I'd take him at his word.

What the commentators aren't saying, perhaps because they don't know it, is that in China the airforce gets all priorities and shuts down all airports if a military plane is even nearby an airport. If you have ever flown in China you will know that practically EVERY single flight is delayed, and the air force flies and uses most of all the major air ports.

The helicopter is delayed because the air force is getting top priority from the earlier delays.

If the airforce is even near Shanghai they delay all airports until the plane is clear.

Back in 2003 I remember getting up at 4.30am for the European races and watching them on SPEED or ~10PM for the Asian/Australian races. Those were the days when F1 had me hooked that I would actually sacrifice sleep. Not these days! Sleep is much more important now I'm older. I'm looking forward to this race though...

I'm surprised the drivers will race if the medical helicopter can't fly. I agree with Hartstein to an extent. There's a reason they pick the hospitals they do and taking an ambulance ride with a police escort seems a little... I'm not sure the wording... Old?

Probably a moot point though.

A road ambulance kept Jules alive once Dr. Roberts resuscitated him at the scene. And in some cases a road ambulance would be preferable as the doctors would have room to work on the patient (to perform CPR, for example) that they wouldn't have in the air.

The only advantage (which is significant) that a helicopter would have is speed. But if there is a suitable hospital accessible by road within the required time limit, then a road ambulance would probably be better in most cases.

So, at 2pm local time in Shanghai the weather will be 15 degrees at the most, it will be overcast and it could still be drizzling.

At 2pm local time in Silverstone later on, it will be 20 degrees and total sunshine.

Shanghai has pretty cold winters for the latitude but it is getting pretty late in the season for such colder weather. It was cold here today with 4C rain.

Here's a good acestream hash...high quality and no lagging so far. Hopefully it stays like that for the race...
