Lewis only is only good in good cars?

When was the last time, honestly, a driver won a race in a car that clearly wasn't the fastest, and didn't have weather or retirements/crashes from other competitors help?

Maldonado at Spain is the only occasion I can really recall off the top of my head. You'd struggle to really get 5 in the last 10 years.

Wouldn't it be a fantastic spectacle to put Lewis in a Sauber and see how he faired?

Just rewind the tape and watch the 2009 (or 2010?) season, that McLaren was worse than a Sauber.

Indeed 2009. The car was actually very good later on in the season but he had some great drives that year and the victories were still pretty special.

No car will ever be as bad as that 2007 Honda

Christjan(?) Albers drove a car that year, so his was by far the worst.

Raikkonen in Australia 2013 and you could argue Abu Dhabi in 2012 as well.

Didn't he briefly lead at the Nurburgring during that heavy rain debacle?

Still better than most F1 drivers

That was Winkelhock with a smart tyre-strategy at the beginning of the race. :)

nope, Barrichello secured a podium finish with that crapwagon

and Winkelhock drive was epic, the only time a Spyker showed in the front and then he never got back to the F1 grid

Red Bull launching on the same day as STR. They have also shared a video that ends with a teaser of what may well be the car itself.

No he wasn't. Better than Karthikeyan, and maybe Scott Speed.

Albers was runner upto Bernd Schneider once at DTM, I guess he was the first to be promoted from there

I still feel kinda bad for Ide as he'll always be remembered as a bit of a disaster in F1 when in reality I don't think he was as bad as his brief time in F1 made him seem.

Getting thrown into F1 having never driven an F1 car, Never spent any time outside of Japan, Not speaking much English in an English speaking team, doing no running of any note before the 1st race weekend & driving what was essentially a 4 year old car was nothing but a setup for failure.

Quote:
FIA to issue clarification on 'trick' suspensions, Ferrari fails to find unanimous support

The paragraph right at the end sums up perfectly to me the shambles that the FIA have inflicted upon F1.

Quote:
However, technical directives are only advisory in nature and it would be down to race stewards to make binding interpretations of the regulations -- meaning the row could rumble on until the Australian Grand Prix on March 26 if disagreements still exist and an official protest is lodged by a team

So....the sports governing body, the ones who set and make the rules, and the guy whose sole purpose is to oversee and comment on the implementation of the rules.....leaves it up to race stewards who ARE NOT the ones who write the rules to interpret whether the teams are in contravention of the rules....

All the while the stuff that the man who is responsible for the rules says is basically just his own personal opinion and not actually anything binding about the very rules that he is supposed to be in charge of????

I know this has been the case for bloody ages but really when you think about Charlie Whitings opinions actually carry the same weight as any one of us self proclaimed experts on this forum.
