They'd be better off hiring a guy from GP2 or JPM, no offense to JPM of course.

In recent races Palmer has become better, sometimes even beating Magnussen. Like everyone said so many times before, allow a rookie to make mistakes. In the first half of the season it was one mistake after an other, but he's improving.

I guess his father knows something and is using classic blackmail to keep his son racing

He does bring money, and I think most of Renault's other options have just about disappeared anyway. K-Mag is going to Haas, as noted above. Ocon is now almost nailed-on at Force India. The only other driver in the frame was Nasr, and I assume he's now staying with Sauber, although with Kalternborn you can't be quite sure.

EDIT: And Gasly, who I assume has chosen to stay with Red Bull for the time being.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Force India were evaluating him as well (he has tested for them) but they think Ocon is better.

Speaking of sponsors, last night was the final nail in Gutierrez' career as his main backer is now worth much, much less than he was 24 hours ago.

A shitty day you say, will this help? Palmer or Chilton, decide on one.

That's like asking me to chose whether I'd prefer to contract syphilis or gonorrhea, or getting all my news from either Fox News or DailyMail.

Man you're cruel.

Bild* now reporting Ocon to Force India as a done deal. They are also reporting that Nasr is interested in Manor, as is Gutierrez and his increasingly worthless sack of pesos, and Jordan King's name is also in the mix.

Manor honestly seems like a better choice than Renault atm. If it were me...
