Watch them talk this up and then introduce some token measure like cup guys get 30m less practice than xfinity guys.

I hope they can do something for the Xfinity series. I remember going with my father to Loudon for the stand alone Busch races in the mid 90's. Always so fun to tag along with my Dad and his work buddies on the coach bus. The peak of my interested was the late 90's, early 2000's. Always pulled for Randy LaJoie in that 74 car then the 1 car.

One thing correct in that article's that it's a different time. That seems to be hard to get thru to a lot of people.. that say well Cup drivers have been running lower series forever. Yes but back there were veery few companion races. Now it's almost all companion races so you have to introduce an artificial way to keep them out. This is a good start but I'd rather they'd have introduced a limit on the no. of races a Cup guy can run during the regular/non-Chase season also.

the Mexico Series has came back from the dead, PEAK named as title sponsor. New body style as well (basicly Super Copa Telcel bodies with the Five Star "Gen 6" bumper covers & windows)

That's great to hear for that series. Hopefully it can gain some more popularity and momentum. Seems that maybe we are getting closer to the Cup Series title announcement. Some believe NASCAR doesn't want to announce it until the final race so Sprint can have the last 5 races in the spotlight which I can understand.

Gray Gaulding will be driving the 30 car in the Cup race at Martinsville... What a pathetic driver to be putting in your car. He is no where near qualified for the Cup Series. Hell probably barely qualified to properly drive a street car. He sucks.

Gray Gaulding to attempt to make his Cup debut at Martinsville.

I don't see this going well at all.

This will not end well. Either DNQ, five laps behind, or tore up equipment are the only conclusions I can make.

At least he'll finally have a lesson in humility, getting to drive that Key trash.

Why does Tom Chilton get the honour of having all below-average pay drivers compared to him? Pedro Diniz and Ricardo Rosset are not getting the respect they deserve.

I know a lot of times we have negative things to say about the Cup Series but come on, there's no way a driver like this should be allowed to start a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race...

If it weren't for the disastrous weekend he had a few years back at Pocono, I would say that JWT is more qualified for a Cup ride than Gray Gaulding.

Actually, fuck it: JWT is more qualified for a Cup ride than Gray Gaulding.

At least JWT has won something at a top level. 2 ARCA wins and 1 Truck win. Gaulding is known for donuts and shitty driving... and that "hey look at me, I have funding" piece that aired during one of the Bash at the Beaches.
