A right-wing default response to a PoC's protest? Shhhhhhhhhhockinnnnggg.

It's only the world of police that matters. Heaven forbid he (or anyone else) should pause to consider what some civilians "go thru" at the hands of some police.

Anytime the replies are 90% referencing the Kevin Ward incident, you know you might want to stay away from it.

It's kind of a match made in heaven: a driver who doesn't know what the fuck he's talking about is assailed by some people who don't know what the fuck they're talking about.

I'm still a Stewart fan, but this wasn't his fight. One of the smartest things you can do is learn to pick your spots and when to chime in, and when to keep quiet and let something play out. I don't know if he's grasped that yet. You may disagree with Kaepernick's decision to sit during the anthem, but it's his right as an American, guaranteed by the First Amendment to the United States Constitution. Few other countries would give Kapernick that right.

Personally, I couldn't give two shits.

Social media can be ruthless. Deadspin posted an article about Stewart's comments and then said how a Twitter user "owned" him. The person commented towards Tony saying how he intentionally killed a guy and just had completely false facts about Tony's situation but some how considered it ownage. So I just simply commented back to the article stating that the facts were false and what not and the first 2 comments replied to me were "Ok Tony's boyfriend" and "lol ok Klansman"

This is why I think people in the spotlight should try their best to not do what Tony did with the Kaepernick deal.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy social media but man there are some complete losers on it.

I have yet to see a single cogent, valid critical response to Kaepernick's stance. People continue to expose themselves as mindless, emotionally-motivated reactionaries when they criticize him. They even refute themselves when they cite the old "people died for your right to protest" line right before essentially telling him to shut up and get in line.

Also, the notion that his opportunity to be a wealthy athlete with a dissenting voice is uniquely American is also nonsense. Most of Western civilization affords people those rights and opportunities and if I had to guess, I'd say we probably rank fairly low among many of those countries when it comes to how we treat people/public figures who are critical of their state.

You can feel however you want about it, but to suggest Kaepernick has done anything wrong or objectionable is just complete bullshit. Nationalism and/or forced patriotism is utter nonsense and is a direct violation of the notion of free speech/expression.

Yeah, I deleted Black Flag and Deadspin from my RSS feed today. Can't read their stuff anymore.

"I'm not racist, I fucking love interracial cuck porn!" Would've been essentially the same response.

Seriously. There's a lot that needs to be said about just shutting the fuck up.

Well, considering that Deadspin is owned by Gawker, which tends to hire irrational writers any rational person can dismiss them as "SJWs" (social justice warriors)...this isn't really much of a surprise.

But yeah. As stated earlier, Tony is an opinionated guy and loves to speak his mind, but I'd rather have him to just stand back and see where it goes.

(Also of note, anytime anyone mentions Tony Stewart on Twitter, some loser will tweet at you saying that Tony "murdered" Kevin Ward...which is factually incorrect. Use the block feature whenever necessary.)

I wouldn't expect much from Gawker related sites, especially now. They are going to be swinging towards the fences with the Liberal rhetoric as they slowly flow down the drain.

That's an insult to liberals. Even THEY make more sense than the idiots at Gawker.

I mean, Jezebel (a Gawker site) refused to review No Man's Sky because it's "mysgonist" (read: it had "man" in the title, despite the title totally referencing something else).

Pretty much any democracy would give him that right, to be fair. And it's also Stewart's right to call him an idiot, and twitter trolls' right to take cheap Kevin Ward shots, and the right of dumb media like Gawker to run stories on it. People are so ready to cheer for free speech but totally forget what that means when they hear something they don't like.

There's no disputing those rights. But it's the debate over the content of someone's speech/expression where it can become clear that some people would do well to consider what they're saying before doing so.
