Oh great, that's exactly what we need. Boring ultra-grippy tire that lasts the full race. How about to limit the compounds then? Do we need Ultra soft that lasts full race? How about we just have Soft, Medium and Hard? Or more related to the series: Dull, Boring, Snoozefest.

Higher downforce cars and tyres that don't degrade....

Great job FIA, GREAT JOB! :slaphead:

Better increase the DRS window to about 5 seconds behind the car in front as that's about as close as they'll be getting :yuk:

Just because the tyres are not going to be designed to degrade at an artificially fast rate won't mean that there going to be as super durable as the Bridgestone's were the final few years.

From the article:
Quote:
“What we definitely will see is faster cars,” said Hembery. “We expect a three to four second improvement in performance, which is clearly quite substantial.”

“So the tyres will be working very hard and the compounds will be working hard – and that will cause degradation, so we will still have a good level of strategy.”

Maybe it will prove a positive for the racing, Maybe it won't but let's wait & see.... Also not as if they wont be able to introduce a bit more degredation in future years if that aspect does prove to be something people miss.

The cars will actually be heavier and have more drag...but the max fuel is only going to be +5kg. So with 105 kg a +10kg car with a lot more drag is going to need to do the same distance. Forget about the fastest cars in the world, it's only about the qualifying... :slaphead:

if I knew fuel would be this shit it was better to stick with refuelling

at least some drivers could run on a fast pace and cars might fail

Lol as if it matters what "people" think. All the teams hate the degrading tyres, they're gone for 2017 and it will stay that way.

What do teams dislike in degrading tyres? Even if something is bothering you, rules are the same for everyone aren't they? Just stop whining and get better at using them to your advantage.

well in 2013 tires were suiting Ferrari and Lotus very well in the beggining. Mercedes and Red Bull complained and then Vettel killed randomness based on proper whining

woo back to 2010 with boring one stoppers and no passing without DRS :whistling: :whistling:

the only reason 2010 was remotely exciting was due to Vettel breaking down, otherwise he'd have won the championship with many races left

Oh yes 2010, when Vettel took out Webber in Istanbul, eff'd up the first turn at Silverstone, took out Button at Spa and I'm pretty sure I've missed a couple. Yes he had a few mechanical issues that year but he had an equal amount of screw ups. Without one or the other he wouldn't have been as dominant as you believe.

He's always been a screw up when fighting through the pack and sometimes even in the lead.

I always rated him as a good driver in an amazing car.

But his time at Ferrari is a bit disappointing tbh.

Someone posted an F1 app to the Play Store and it's fantastic! Has a full almanac, session info, times, everything. No iOS version though.

Thankfully Bernie doesn't hand-pick the schedule all by himself. Otherwise we'd have Monaco + 20 non-European races on the calendar :yuk:

The most disappointing thing about Ferrari is they keep attracting the best drivers in the sport only to piss away their remaining competitive years. And yet people still think the sport can't survive without them.
