Two cars go home before the heats, so 20 cars will start each heat.

At first I was disappointed by this but with only 2 extra cars showing up there really isn't much drama in sending only 1 home from each heat.

It still defeats the purpose of having heats though, if you're going to knock people out beforehand.

FansChoice will be streaming 3 local tracks this weekend now, as they have added Utica Rome Speedway's season opener (Sunday night at 6PM ET). The other 2 are Berlin and Magic Valley on Saturday

Oohhh Nascar, you so sly. Advertising FRIDAY NIGHT SHORT TRACK with two "heat races", when all you're doing is mucking up the first 100 laps and changing nothing as far as the racing goes. The heat races mean absolutely dick, since they set the field of 40 BEFORE the heats, and we STILL get a 200 green-flag run to the end. Gullible Nascar fans are gullible.

Bristol baby, still better than most other tracks.

Witch series Kyle won't be in?

The best part of the heat races is that at least one of them he won't be able to win. :D

Watch the cars practice on the bottom all day, then 10 laps into the race they're up against the wall and nobody can pass for a damn.

Ahhh, just like our local short tracks: 30 minutes between heat races.

I would like the heat races if the laps were so damn long, they should have done a draw instead of time trials too, that way the fastest car doesn't drive away from the field as easily depending on their draw

There's no reason to push hard at all. No threat of a DNQ.
