they focus only on the first lap, but the race as whole was a great display of driving by Ayrton Senna on changing conditions

he had also a great start on Canadian GP from 8th to 3rd I guess, but it wasn't that remembered because he didn't got the lead

Let's pray Mercedes can keep vetoing those rules.

No surprise the Red Bull clowns are pushing these retarded aerodynamic increases.

And no wonder that Mercedes. They are both self serving. The biggest thing against decreasing aero is simply all tje investments every team has done in wind tunnels. It will never happen.

A ridiculous argument in there about not wanting to go back to old ideas. As if going back is bad. As if just by being new is good. Ridonkeylous.

If Red Bull are pushing the aero increase, their driver is publicly against it: http://flip.it/PQu6D

And as far as future F1 concepts that will never happen, this one has my vote.

4 wheel drifting with that. Cornering like GPL, that would at least be awesome to watch. They would probably consider it too dangerous though. But as a side series, this would be awesome.

They're idiots for wanting more DF, they have to take it away.

Increase tyre size and take 40% of aero away.

“Our statistical model allows us to find a ranking and assess the relative importance of team and driver effects, and there are some surprising results. For example the relatively unknown Christian Fittipaldi is in the top 20, whilst three time champion Niki Lauda doesn’t even make the top 100. Had these drivers raced for different teams, their legacies might have been rather different.”

So, the model is NOT flawed, you're saying?

The biggest problem is the reliability of cars. If you have dnf's this year, it will have a huge impact. But before, it was very normal to have a wc leader with 20 points after half a season. Imagine what Jim Clark would have done if the Lotus didn't break down every race. Or if Fangio had made different team choices.

There is too much difference in eras to ever make a comparison on anything other then pure statistics, if they've incorporated everything. We have double the amount of races, big manufacturers vs small teams.

When Williams was dominating, people used to say that even Diniz would win. It's a team sport. If the car is crap, nobody would win. It's as simple as that. And making the right choice is also huge, ask Alesi.

italian F1 fans like Ferrari so much that they don't even bother to have a 63 year drought without an italian world champion

didn't think I'd say this in the nineties, but happy to read that. For some reason, races in the last couple of years have been entertaining to watch.
