I thought Jordan changed because the original colour didn't look good on TV?

That's what I thought too, although it could have been why they went back to yellow from gold, I seem to remember reading the gold looked black on TV and b&h didn't like it because you couldn't see theblack logos.

The yellow looked like a dirty mustard on TV whereas the Gold was better and fitted the B&H branding, but it still didn't stand out enough.

Congratulations to Haas for launching the 2016 Ferrari as their first F1 car. It's just like Ligier and Benetton in 1995.

Nice car, dull livery.

That's the least inspiring livery for a new team I've ever seen at the launch. And no sponsors! New team should try to get more of them for the launch.

Anyhow, the car looks good. I think that bump over fron suspension pushrods is not an accident or a bad design, but there's probably going to be an S-duct just in front of that.

HAAS didn't have any sponsors on Kurt Busch's Cup car aside from his own until this year, it seems he likes to go it alone in the first couple of years, it sets expectations low, and when you inveitibly exceed those expectations, everybody wants to be part of your team.

OK. But come to think of it, that actually makes sense, since HAAS is a big corporation itself. With this strategy, they seems to want to market themselves first.

Just put my color TV for sale, going back to a black and white TV for this F1 season because that's all the colors the cars have anyway

Interesting strategy, but risky.

HAAS has said himself that it's about exposing his business globally, and no doubt that the F1 world will generate the interest he wants on a global business front.

Besides the lack of colorful sponsors, is there actually a reason for the teams to go for dark and grey colors? Is it to hide aero details on photographs?

And McLaren is in Ron's personal colour. Dull.

Watching the 1990 review, what a joy it is to see so many colorfull liveries. Barely any dull ones.

You don't need a science, maths or art degree to work that out. Marlboro has been a big part of Ferrari for many years and their old boss is the new boss of the F1 team. Not a coincidence. The strange thing is that I don't get why other teams don't go and hit up tobacco companies for sponsorship. It's still a booming industry despite the branding bans. Yes there are moral and health issues, but that's no different to alcohol sponsorship.

I have no problem with that, I still believe that tobacco made the best liveries of all time

I may be watching too much cycling but I think there should be special liveries for championship leader, shit like that.

Yellow for Leader. Green for most Poles. Polka dots for ... I don't really know, but something ... most positions gained relative to grid slot. White livery for Best Rookie.
