I still like Sky's F1 intro:

Half a "oh look at us aren't we having a jolly old time covering this f1 lark" and half a rip off of the bbcs slow motion cg of classic momenta idea set to awful whiny dirge of a song?

Nah, I've literally been cringing any time they used just drive (also a song that was used on the bbc first, get some original thoughts soon plz sky)

Also no other broadcaster feels the need to show their own presenters in the intro of the sport, it's like putting a barrier between the viewer and f1, ridiculous egotism

Vandoorne to Super Formula as expected. Because winning two titles and being 2nd twice in the last 4 years is not good enough for F1. Meanwhile, his GP2 team ART will put 2 Honda proteges who will suck but will be in F1 next year because of budget.

Lol. 1st off, where are they going to put them? Secondly, if Vandoorne does well in SF he will get the drive. Simple. He's not at McLaren because they have two world champions who don't know when to shuffle, and the Honda is so bad that no one will take the risk on it. Besides, Matsushita wasn't exactly shit. 1st season racing in Europe and was able to scrounge together some results. And he only had Japanese F3 experience. Wouldn't surprise me to see him win a few this season.

This is pretty much why I don't understand why others haven't come up with junior teams yet like Red Bull has.

If Ferrari, McLaren, Mercedes and Red Bull all want them they surely could push a new rule through allowing more sharing of parts between teams thus lowering the costs of running a second team.

Now all of them, except Red Bull to some extent, have talent wasting away because they don't have the seats available.

Ferrari always had the policy of hiring the best available and they don't seem to giving up the practice

but having two teams now could be the best way to have more track time and better feedback to develop shared parts, like they'll do with Haas

Mercedes have an audio clip of their car firing up. Sounds a little raspier than last year's.

Doesn't surprise me at all. He was thoroughly outclassed by Rossi, and I thought Rossi was just an OK kind of driver.

This year marks the first time I'm not watching F1 on Finnish MTV. They just announced that they no longer provide a separate F1 stream package, but require to purchase sport package with hockey, golf and what-not that costs hundreds of euros. No thanks, especially considering how abysmal their coverage is and that the stream isn't even in FullHD in 2016.
Obviously finding a stream for each session will be annoying, but I guess acestream is pretty reliable option.

Wasnt there something 'wrong' with number 88?

The 8th letter of the alphabet is H. 88 = HH = Heil Hitler. Racial supremacists use it as a coded way of identifying each other.

That is clearly irrelevant as to why Haryanto chose the number - I assume that 8 is a lucky number in Indonesia much as it is in China.

So if H is 8th letter then it's Haryanto8 or H8... or HATE

Quite fitting.
