No, group qualifying is inherently flawed as fuck. Yes, plate qualifying is unwatchable by nature but so be it. It's as fair as it gets. I haven't watched it for at least 10-12 years and I really don't know why I watched it even back then. But that's fine. It's the one time a year that the mechanics and engineers can truly have their work outshine all the drivers, so unless they ever take the plates off, just skip watching the qualifying telecast, admire the numbers if you wish, and move on to the race.

I have a feeling the caution clock thing is being blown out of proportion. I bet we barely notice it or by mid season no one speaks much of it. Kind of like all the people up in arms about the 3 coming back then you heard absolutely ZERO mention of it after the 2014 500.
