EDIT: There was a tweet from Channel 4 saying that they've managed to get The Chain to be the theme song for their F1 coverage, but the tweet was deleted.

So Renault kept her? Was she even present at the launch of Renault F1?

I can (barely) understand that Lotus hired her for the publicity, but why Renault? I presume they want to be taken seriously and after (or before, even) ditching Maldonado I would have definitely ditched her.

All the bitching is funny as hell though. 8)

Apparently Renault management are really close to dropping Jorda.... also they were contacting both Richie and Marco asking them to stop flaming her

Another pic from the same article:

I don't think it looks too bad there, but the black stripe doesn't do much for it.

Second pic has white around the bottom of the car, where first has black. These could just be mockups or someones interpretation of the the car might look like?

Good spot, and you are probably right. The one I posted does almost look like it has been cropped out of a game preview.

Not sure about wanting 'The Chain' anyway. The music is part of nostalgia, a period gone in time forever associated with the 80s and early to mid 90s.
Time for something new.

It's smart of them to have pinched it, but I don't think a different choice would have been the worst thing. I always quite liked Apollo 440's effort for ITV:

That was my least favorite of ITV's musical intros. JK's intro for 1997 was the best.

I liked the ITV intro posted above as well.

This one allowed to combine F1 with the Bold and the Beautiful

best intro of course was the universal one, five minutes prior to the grand prix start, which was last seen in Japan 2002.

This Sega video game had awesome music on the intro (and mostly throughout). Shame the gameplay was sub-Mario Kart badness...

Not just the music, for their time, the intro graphics were really good. Better than NBCs today

I can't find it on youtube but I always liked Channel 9's into to the 1994 season. Any intro that has Kickstart My Heart by Motley Crue is bound to be fast paced and actioned packed. And it is.

Would be great if it wasn't for the utterly shit music.
