I just saw a scroll saying this happened Sunday. So has he been hospitalized the whole time or did he admit himself after a day?

FOX reporting that Stewart flipped a sand buggy on Sunday while in the San Diego area, and was airlifted by EMT's.

The way Tony's PR guy Eddie Jarvis has been tweeting since yesterday, and through all the messages of support Eddie's been getting, I can't help but feel a little uneasy about this one.

We can only hope everything turns out okay. I guess we'll know more Thursday.

It is a little unnerving at this point. I just got the impression at first that he might have cracked a vertebrae or two and would just have to sit out a few months like most guys seem to with similar injuries.

I agree. Figured there'd be more info as of now. The only thing I can think of, with it being his retirement season, they are trying to iron out the details and prep for all the questions that will be asked should he miss time.

I can't remember...do they have a driver lined up to run the 14 in 2017?

Wonder who would get the nod for the 14 if Tony isn't healed by Speedweeks? Yeley comes to mind but that'd be random af.

Wonder if that means Habul is done with JGR.

NASCAR on FOX now saying that Stewart didn't flip over the sand rail he was driving and that the shocks bottomed out on impact after Stewart went over a lip of a dune.

No update on condition.

Catchfence reported yesterday that Habul is going to JRM. I don't think JGR has the space for Habul now with Jones going full time and the #54 and #20 Cup driver rotation teams being merged into the #18

Ah, so he basically "cased" a landing? I think Robby Gordon had a similar issue several years ago and hurt his foot. Don't think he missed any Cup races (happened while he was with Childress IIRC).

^^^ I think that was the day before the Summer Pocono race in '05 or '06. Can't remember which, but it was one of those years... didn't miss the race.
