Plenty was found, doesn't mean it was true.

Truls did tell me he was approached at a track by some people claiming to be from TBK wanting to know if he really was truls, but instead of talking to them, he blanked them and walked off which in hindsight, made the whole 'who is truls' hunt 100x worse. The only way to verify that story is if the member(s) in question admit it was them and name the track...

Oh how I miss the simple times when TBK-forums had ex-F1 driver / CCWS team owner as a member and a sticker on a F1 backmarker's rear wing thanks to a member who was an F1 mechanic.

I had always thought of doing that if I ever met Johansson.

To this day I am still surprised at the utter shit fit a lot of people had when he was outed. "Oh no, someone lied to me on the internet about who they really are"... lol

Joe Saward is reporting that there are plans to move to a 2 race format with the Sunday race been shortened in length from 300km to 200km.

Seems the plan is to have a qualifying session on Saturday morning to determine the order for the 45 minute Saturday qualifying race which will determine the starting order for the main race on Sunday. Points will be awarded for both races apparently.

Can't say i'm fond of the idea. I think F1 should be about a single Grand Prix race on the Sunday & I don't really see any real benefit in adding a 2nd race but I can see a few potential negatives.

For instance if your going to determine the grid order based on race pace then why would you expect any significant position changes on Sunday?
I also wonder if you will be able to hold people's attention for 2 races, If the 1st is dull for instance why would they tune in for the 2nd?

It just seems like change for the sake of change.

They know perfectly well that there's nothing wrong with the weekend format. They are just lazy to fix the real problems. Changing weekend format is so much easier and costs less money than changing aerodynamic rules. They probably hope that two races would get the public to forget there's anything wrong in F1. Take away the attention, you know. It's like your roof is leaking into your living room, so you convert it into a bathroom.

Take away 40% of the DF, add tyre width and wider cars for more mechanical grip

If they go to a two race format, then they have to allow spare cars back in.

This would make too much sense, and improve the racing too much.

2 races shorter races per weekend is not a good thing for top racing series, why not have a race with at least 2 hours?

Now open up the fuel flow limitation and increase the fuel capacity a little and there might be more engine noise for the fans. That's the only thing that's not taken in account here. We don't want refueling so it's all good.

Good idea, I think the team to benefit the most from this would be Mclaren. How many times last year did we hear the drivers had to drive to a set delta lap time per lap, don't give it to many revs here, or lift & coast etc.

F1 does something to finally make a closer connection with fans through social media and TBK still moans. Figures.

Give it time & see how the FIA play their cards. I wouldn't put it past them, offering this, but only in the paid app you download. Dolla, dolla bills

You mean, race on real organic tracks instead of Tilke copies?

Drivers had favourite circuits and performed differently on different tracks. Everything is the same now. Compared to 20 years ago, the tracks have changed the most. But indeed, let's absolutely not solve problems.

why do I feel annoyed/angry reading this?

Quote:
Azerbaijan set for evening race start time

Organisers of the European Grand Prix, which will take place in Azerbaijan, have confirmed that the inaugural race around the streets of capital city Baku is set to begin in the evening.

Azerbaijan has been given a June 19 slot for 2016 and, while the weekend clashes with the Le Mans 24 Hours, the Grand Prix itself will begin at 18:00, just as the endurance race concludes.

Sunset in Baku takes place at 21:14 on race date, which means there is not a four-hour daylight window, which was recommended following Jules Bianchi's ultimately fatal accident at Suzuka in 2014.

However, officials have dismissed such concerns, stating "the three-hour window between the start of the race and sunset will allow drivers enough time to race through the streets of Baku during daylight."

In a list of 2016 start times, published by UK broadcaster Sky Sports, the Bahrain and Abu Dhabi Grands Prix remain as twilight races, with the Singapore Grand Prix the sole night race.

Especially this part:

There's a few good reasons to be annoyed about that.

- Le Mans podium ceremony or F1 race, pick one
- race might end short
- race might not be held on Sunday if there's bad weather
- They never learn

Hell yes! Fuck that to death! The most stupidiest proposed change ever! Might be good for Formula E or lower classes, but not for F1. Have some dignity, please.

I remember when they changed FIA GT to a 2 race format, that almost killed the series
