Really excited with this race, the cars go way faster with the new package, I love watching them race now because of that, on any oval and road course. And still race great. Hopefully the momentum for a great series resurrection back from the old days keeps going....

That moment when you realise one of the shortest ovals in the states has an infield road course layout....

I assume that's just for Go Karts and things not too powerful? :?

IIRC they ran a Grand-Am race there in 2007.

Found it:

Kanaan fastest in final practice. Also, all the Chevrolets aside from Coletti are atop the chart. Rahal is the fastest Honda, a full tenth of a second slower than Newgarden.

They also used to run AMA events on the track...at one point.

Given that Bourdais was allowed to keep his win and points from the last race, why doesn't everyone run their cars underweight this weekend?

I do like this track. Just wish the race was a bit earlier.

The excuse Walker gave was about the size of the infringement - Bourdais was only slightly underweight.

One assumes that if someone Smokey Yunick'd their car they would lose their victory.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

When did illegal stop meaning illegal? When did Indycar become NASCAR with the way they handle penalties?

Bourdais drifts through turn 2 in qualifying, almost a perfect save except he wiped a wheelguard off at the end.
