Should only have 4 buttons on the wheels, starter, rear light on/off, radio and pit speed limiter.

Just drive the fucking car, if you run out of fuel, tough shit, no need to change brake bias by 0.5% midway down the straight four times a lap, never understood how half a percent could make much difference anyway.

I agree, get rid of complex fuel maps. Have 2 only: full rich and a mode for safety car running.

Not even that IMO. Ask Nascar drivers.

Lots of horsepower and less aero. They can still achieve decent laptimes. Like Ian says, make thing simple without the need for minute changes throughout a lap.

I'd like to have all communication between driver and pits to be abandoned. Only pitboards at the straight. And info about safety (like yellows somewhere on track) should be communicated by race director to all drivers.

So that it would really be up to the driver to decide how he should brake, how he should handle the tyres etc

I seriously can not believe they are even thinking of these shitty gimmicks for the race weekend. I loved the old 1 hour qualifying format, was dead set opposed to them changing it.

Fucking hated the single car, combine two times concept.

But I have to say the current format is the perfect solution. It ensures on track action and the element of surprise. Seems every 2 or 3 races a big name is knocked out of qualifying early cause of some problem or a slightly scrappy lap. Which as a fan is exciting. Why they want to change the ONE thing they have gotten right in the last 15 odd years is beyond me.

Sprint races on a Saturday? That's what support races are for! A prelude to the main event. Way to go to make the sport even harder for the casual fan to follow. The problem is not the race length. Its the draconian rules that produce hideously complex but ultimately boring cars and racing that are the problem.

Seriously, none of these clowns have any idea what they are doing.

Doesn't matter what shit they try and do, Mercedes will still win.

2 races per weekend are you kidding?

David Croft said during FP1 that he spoke to someone from a team who confirmed that the aero changes been talked about does include ground effects.

If they had stuck to the original concept for 2013/14 we would already have ground effects, It also shows how dumb the teams were in 2011 when they said that DRS removed the need to make any other aero changes.

They need to take away aero and have more mechanical. Reduce DF by 40% and soften the tyres.

Refuelling will NOT be reintroduced in 2017. As for other ideas...

"By next year, information such as tyre pressures and temperatures and brake condition will be available to the driver on his dashboard but not fed to him by the team.

Bosses also discussed ways of changing the format of race weekends, among them the possibility of a shorter race on a Saturday in addition to the main grand prix on a Sunday.

Ecclestone is said not to be in favour of introducing a second race for all the field, but one idea that could be pursued is a race for third cars and junior drivers, with the best allowed to then take part in the grand prix on Sunday."

Not gonna work at all.

If no team drops out and Haas does join there are 4 slots available. Why would a Manor, Haas or Sauber even consider entering a 3th car? They will not even get close to one of those 4 spots.
Only reason would be to get some extra milage.

So in the end it will be a glorified test session.

I think the problem there is that you would have constant scenarios like Prost wanting to see his pitboard in Estoril 1988, but going to close to see.

From what I remember, Senna was alongside.

Happy refueling's been dropped as I always hated it when we had it before, Felt the racing was better both before & after.

The complaints about fuel saving/list & coast can be resolved in other ways, Giving them a bit more fuel & forcing teams to start with full tanks to get rid of the under-fueling been the most obvious.

There's something that i'm not sure I like though:
Quote:
The 84-year-old's proposal is to impose an upper limit on the performance of engines and allow manufacturers who are not yet at that level to develop until they meet it.

I'm all for engine development been opened up which would help Renault/Honda improve, But I don't agree that those who did the best job should be capped until those who didn't do as good a job can catch up, That just isn't what F1 should be about in my view.

3rd driver race? Yes please!

Susie vs Palmer vs some 15 year old red bull Jr kid?
And considering all the wet qualifying we've enjoyed over the last 2 years that have ended up with a dry race....
3rd drivers in the rain!

Bernie wants wrecks!

Yes, these teams have not a lot of money, so lets run races to destroy more cars
