Something I don't understand is the situation with Santander.
They went to Ferrari with Alonso in 2010, right?
They have also been a sponsor for McLaren until 2014.
So why do they leave McLaren and stay with Ferrari in 2015?
Well, for sure they have a longer-term contract with Ferrari, but why didn't they stay with McLaren?

Maybe like everyone else they weren't sure where Alonso would go.

I like the livery. It's something we don't have on the grid right now. At least it is better than the chrome.

But is this allowed? I thought the FIA didn't allow to change colour scheme during the season, because we, i.e. motorsport fans are dumb and would be totally confused...

Oh, and HRT - Hispania Racing Team. Where are we now? Maybe there's a reason for that kinda shitty livery....

^^ The teams are allowed 3 minor changes iirc, changing a silver section to back/red wouldn't be considered as major as perhaps changing the black to orange...

Perhaps the $26billion in losses they recently had to write down affected their marketing budget somewhat...

Maurizio had an operation on his arm, but I don't know whether it was planned or due to an accident.

So peps, thoughts on the weekend?

My prediction....chance of a Pastor incident during the weekend....Extreme
Chance of a Rosberg excuse....Alarmingly high
Chance of a Kimi fan boy comment as to why Vettel is faster....forgone conclusion

At the risk of being a douche...I will quote myself! Weekend didn't even start and one of my predictions came true.

I'm amazed we hear no complaints from teams and drivers. The old circuit is there, just make decision to use it.
Or maybe it's just a FIA's dignity: "Lots of work was done for the chicane, so it would be silly not to use it".

Wasn't the chicane added to improve overtaking chances? If so, it was designed completely wrong anyway.

Yes, but at that time (2007) there was no DRS and somehow they thought the cars would be closer when approaching the main straight, thus improving overtaking. Now, the old layout would suit better for DRS. Anyway, the fact is the flow is always better without chicanes. Besides, the corner isn't dangerous thanks to the big gravel trap.

Some chicanes are awesome, like on Imola or Magny-Cours, but this one is probably one of the worst ever.

-Edit-
I forgot the new Bus-stop on Spa, that one is awful as well (though that actually provides some overtaking).

It took away 2 of the best corners of the year and added nothing. Those corners were kinda like the old Lesmos.
