Australian Grand Prix is a Formula One race that is part of the annual Formula One championship season. It is held at the Melbourne Grand Prix Circuit at Albert Park in Melbourne. The event was held annually since 1928 at various venues in Australia, before it became part of the Formula One championship in 1985. The race was held at the Adelaide Street Circuit in Adelaide from 1985 to 1995, before moving to Melbourne in 1996.

The Australian Grand Prix is the first round of the Championship, having been the first race of each year, excluding 2006, since the event moved to Melbourne. During its years in Adelaide, the Australian Grand Prix was the final round of the Championship, replacing the Portuguese Grand Prix in that respect. As the final round of the season, the Grand Prix hosted a handful of memorable Grand Prix, most notably the 1986 and 1994 event which saw those respective titles decided.

I can't find a "convert to your local time" option anymore on the F1 site. Surely that can't be for paying users only?

So this is the 20th time the Australian GP has been held at Melbourne. There's been of plenty of good ones, I'm trying to think which one has been the best?

Shit year overall but 2002 was pretty dramatic.

2001,DC overtook two cars around the outside of turn 3 in one of the most underrated moves in f1 history too.

...will forever be one of the most overrated Australian GPs ever. I've watched it a few times and will never understand the fascination. A GP that is continuously interrupted by safety cars caused by shoddy driving isn't a classic in my book.

1997, 2003, 2009 and 2010 are the best IMO.

But crashing is the best part of F1.

Right?

2003 was great, albeit nothing beats 2002 start. Spa 2012 was small bump compared to Ralf's jump and the carnage behind was priceless.
Just read Australia will stay as a season opener at least until 2020. Wonderful news because some corrupted oil country with boring ti£k€ring just sucks all the enjoyment out of the occasion. If there will be a new host for 2021 race, I'd choose Brazil, Argentina or South Africa.
Anyway, can't wait. I will be dead tired by Sunday after waking up on Friday and Saturday, but...this happens only once a year.
