Homestead's the last time I can remember somebody backing into the wall and having the car catch fire like that, when Newman dumped Montoya's shit.

Homestead is honestly a good race in person, racing all over the track.

Sadly TV doesn't do it justice.

I'll be there regardless.

I wouldn't mind attending a race at Homestead one day.

It won't happen, but if the whole season is going to come down to the final race, the final race should be held at a different track each year.

Newmie's a good wheelman and would be nice if he won the Cup. His old school Cale Yarborough driving style is fun to watch and anyone that wins 8 in one season is a great driver and deserving of the Cup, regardless of anything else.

Would it mock NASCAR's new system? Yes. But in all fairness, the system's main goal was to make the championship more entertaining and unpredictable and it did that. But it also for the first time that I've ever seen them genuinely go for wins like this and that's a good thing. You still have room to points race your way in so that should make the consistency fans happy too. Something for everyone.

For the first time in a long time I'm actually interested in watching the Truck race, or at least DVRing it since Mason Mitchell is driving in it. Hope he does well.

Ugghhhhh...My initial reaction was that I hope he doesn't win, but it doesn't even matter who does win because it doesn't mean anything now. And since credibility and fan voice don't matter to NASCAR anyway, they've actually rendered meaninglessness itself meaningless. It's like a self-fellating monster with no shame. :p

If ESPN does a closing video Sunday thanking everyone, it could never be as good as this one that they did when they left the first time back in 2000.

Notice, not a single crash shown.

NASCAR, despite anything they say, is seriously hoping Logano or Harvick win this thing. The general media, you know, the ones NASCAR is trying to woo into their corner with all this crap, will have a field day if a guy who missed a race or a guy who didn't win any race winds up winning the title. If either of those two win (Hamlin or Newman) expect another overhaul to the points system/chase next year.

50 points less if you get into the chase without a win?

I'm already expecting one anyway because Jimmie or Dale Jr. Didn't win.

That's why I'm rooting for Newman/Hamlin.
