Yes, like in 2007... oh wait! And in 2010 as well... hmmmm... and don't forget in 2012 when he was the plucky underdog because of the bad car... lolwhoops!!

Or like 2005 and 2006

iono

and all the years at Ferrari he drove a lesser car, I really don't think it was the best in the second half of the season.
He was still second to the class of the field in the best car.

iono

Or he's just terribly overrated.

F1 without Alonso would be a lesser championship. I want him in a competitive car next year. He should be a triple world champion but isn't... partly because of Ferrari, partly because of Vettel and Red Bull but a lot because of issues involving himself. We've detailed them many times before so don't need to go into them again.

But in reference to everything I've said above, I'm just making a joke at Alonso's expense. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Of course, but if she had the skill level it would be less about the money. Why would they pick someone of lesser or even equal skill level when they can go with someone with more money and get the same or more in return?

Cause the marketing return they could have got out "F1's only woman driver" as opposed to "Felipe fucking who?" would be greater in my opinion. But then again, Nasr's bank probably just whacked on an extra couple of zeros for a known monetary quantity.

Simona would have been interviewed by EVERYONE. Just like Danica is. That's some pretty big exposure right there and shows what a progressive and modern team Sauber would have been.

Simona would be interesting for Caterham or Marussia.
Sauber currently has the ambition (or illusion) to move up the grid again next season. Caterham and Marussia (as Manor GP) would be happy to just be there. Having Simona would generate the extra buzz around the team and hopefully attract a few sponsors willing to jump on the "only woman driver" bandwagon.

Sauber are as good as dead, and with two inexperienced drivers they will not move up anymore.
