So the crap shoot race. The one that the "fans" say it was a great race because there was a big wreck on the last lap after a bs debris caution to set up a GWC after a single file top fest for the previous 158 laps. Meanwhile a real race is going on a Pocono.

It won't be "meanwhile"-anything - race on Friday night, race on Saturday night, race on Sunday equals three days of racing and one annoyed wife (mine).

My wife wasn't happy in the slightest earlier this week when she saw the advert for the British GP.

She was even less happy when I said fuck the gp, Indycar is at Pocono and NASCAR at Daytona......

WHY CAN'T THEY JUST LOVE IT LIKE WE DO... GOD.

On a semi-related note, I couldn't help but laugh at her when we were watching the closing laps at Road America, and Tags came from 23rd to 2nd in 2 laps. She said "Wow, even I'm impressed by that!"

So, there's hope still left... not much, but there is some.

It was only awesome because of the threat of rain ending it at any second! And some guy named Junior won..

Not really--since 07, most of the night racing at Daytona has produced better racing.

The 500 had pack racing back from what I remember. It seemed like a pretty solid race with a distinct lack of tandem bullshit.

Alright this is thee official make or break weekend If we're left with another set of blue balls, I'm just not going to tune in anymore...delete the NASCAR APP (even though I get it free) sell all my old rare diecasts, and just devote all my time to record collecting and DJ'ing

24 cars, one of which is TBA. ARCA really has dropped.

Money is the issue. Low car counts are everywhere. They had 23 there last year. I haven't seen the #23 car entered which is surprising. It also doesn't help when teams that planned to run the full schedule (the #46 and #86) have sponsor issues and have to drop out or cut back. NASCAR's K&N series have had counts in the 20s. Wish they'd do a combination race with ARCA somewhere so we'd get a 40 car entry list and some DNQs again.

For horrendous car counts, go look up the CARS Pro Cup (formerly USAR) on Racing-Reference. 8 or 9 cars running 200-250 lappers on short tracks. I couldn't imagine watching that.

Nah too much good in life for especially those waste of time Nationwide and Truck races. Thought is be a true fan to the bitter unavoidable demise NASCAR is surely headed down but even I can't handle these recent shit shows.

Tell me about it. One of their playoff races this year is at Lonesome Pine, which is a few miles up the road from me. I was all excited until I saw the 8-9 cars running a 250 lap race... so, I guess I am passing on that one later this year.

I almost went to an ASA Late Model race at IRP one year until I found out it was 8 cars for 200 laps. No thanks. The ARCA Trucks can barely put on a decent show with the 10-12 trucks that have been showing up this year at the races. Thankfully for as many trucks as there are, the races are only 50-100 laps. Flat Rock was horrendous (4th place truck was 19 laps down), Lake County and Kil-Kare were decent.
