How come there are no tyre markings (i.e. Pirelli) on the Caterham tyres? Used tyres from last year or so?

Someone earlier in the thread (can't remember who; sorry!) said Pirelli have provided cold weather-spec tyres for this test. I would assume they just haven't bothered painting them up, but Mercedes' press images from this morning certainly showed them.

I would find that amazing and not understandable, as it is especially this first day that pictures are spread all over the internet and news websites with the look and performance of these new cars. oh well, I guess the marketing boys and girls know what they are doing at Pirelli...

The Force India reminds me somewhat of a late 80s Minardi.

Williams:

The Williams and the likes look very under-developed compared to Caterham and Mercedes and Ferrari and Lotus.

It's very clear F1 will not be the same as in 2013.

OMFG about this Caterham....and they think they'll be succesful at it? Jeeesus....

Teams investing in this "cock nose" are insisting artificial high noses but as they have to fulfill the rules, they end up extending the cock....instead of insisting in high noses, just go low nose that's it, at least that's how I read it...hopefully these projects prove to be failed in definitive. Real low nose conceptions have to win and I'm sure they'll win.

Red Bull looks fine IMO.

I wonder how long it will take before all teams have more or less the same nose design.

Be interesting to see how the Lotus nose goes, if it's allowed, which they seem to think it will be.

I'd be very surprised if they change that quick. They're not that reactionary. Took Williams most of a season to change back to a standard nose in 2004

Yeah I agree, change the nose and you'll have a different airflow which forces you to change the rest of the car.

It isn't illegal, rather that it is (apparently) against the spirit of the regulations. Although I've not seen any other teams comment on that yet. But then again, a few teams over the past few years have designed cars "against the spirit of the regulations" and have won races and / or titles.

Then again, no-one will care about the spirit of the regulations if the Lotus is a shitbox.

That is quite interesting. I wonder if they were in a hurry to get the car track-ready, and the paint had been applied in a thin layer, or if they maybe even didn't leave it to dry!?

judging by the blue paint on the wheel it looks more like that the black of the wall left his color on the car nose.

But the black on the wall came from the car.
