Yes he did. And in fact he still finished 13th. This time his finish position was assisted by other people binning it, rather than reliability issues like in 2002.

Seeing that G-Meter reminded me of something on one of the Sky classic races from the other day.

Watching Nigel Mansell from 1991 commentate an OnBoard round Silverstone & saying they were hitting upwards of 9G through Maggotts/Becketts/Chapel

Most likely he's exaggerating, but the G-meters onboard were probably not that sensitive back in the day and might have been "knocked out" during those corners. I remember that some huge accidents forces back in the day were reported to be "as huge as over 10 G's".

The video Stef is referring to is even on youtube. It's Mansell commentating his pole lap of 91(iirc) and that was even debated on the comments of the video.

It's clearly a mistake from Nigel there. He probably just added up the 4,5Gs to each side as 4,5Gs is the numbers mentioned by Murray Walker while commentating a similar(if not the same) 91 lap.

BTW, I wonder why the helmet cam is only been used on Bottas and why can't they fit in a better quality one?

I'm not an expert on these things but I thought a tiny camera with still great quality was something quite ordinary nowadays, FFS

I think getting one that can transmit live rather than just record and playback later must be a factor in what they can use.

Tire "exploded" according to Perez...and obviously not caught on camera by FOM.

Fuji TV must be doing coverage this weekend. Expect missed rollover in the race.

FOM is getting more and more silly. They have several cameras around each corner and they are still missing incidents. Coordination between the cameramen should be better.
