They could turn it into an actual car park, which just happens to be on the outside of turn one lol.

The photo doesn't seem to show it very well, but it shows an area on the exit of T1 that is taped off, and all the grass within has been dug up.
The only reason I think it possibly suggests the construction of a concrete run-off is the shape/location of the area, and how often it is happening at the moment.

I hope they leave those steel poles there if they make a tarmac run-off.

If they are going to do that for F1 my question is why? There have been no serious accidents at that part of the track (Ralf tried hard in 2002) and as far as I know there have been no roll overs. It seems that the FIA have determind that gravel traps are a relic of the past and are to be dispensed with.

I would like to know if there has been a pshycological study done on racing drivers and the effect on their driving attitudes to tarmaced run off versus gravel run offs...eg. Has their driving standards and risk aversion been altered at all with the change of run offs. For me personally I would say yes, they are less cautious about run offs, though the only example I can think of at the moment where a driver would have backed off is Webber on Alonso in Belgium last year. He wouldn't have done that if the corner hadn't been sanitised.

In saying that....they might just be making a normal car park there, so need ashphalt.

Can't really see it in the photo Kals, but that section of grass on the left has been dug out some. Could just be us purists going into melt down mode over nothing though...might be drainage...but then again...it might not...?

FIA will fix this by droping the maximum entries down to 22 or down to 20 for next season, just like they did when USF1 went tits up. Next week Prodrive will deliver their request for entry, which will be denied as the series is already filled.

After the way they've been treated on previous occassions I don't think Prodrive will ever submit another entry to F1.

Wow impressive job by Lotus. Genii seriously is doing a god job right there! And the colours of Burn should fit pretty well on the livery of the Lotus.

Mclaren, lololol.
