+ ten million to this.
This irritates me almost every GP. I've only been to one session of F1 in my life so far, which was the Friday of Belgium this year. The weather was awful and the number of laps which was done that day even worse, but I was happy. So when I see those VIP's on TV who have the best view with the best accommodations but who don't seem to give a shit, it can really get me irritated.

That's life of course, but still..

yeah been posted somewhere a while ago.....

anyways, if Cosworth cannot or will not supply HRT and Marussia next season, Renault is not willing to take up an extra team as they already supply 4 teams.
So Ferrari and Mercedes have to pick up the teams.

Yep.

And if the engines get delayed until 2015, Renault will walk. Fun times ahead.

Well Honda has been hinting at a return to F1. This time as supplier.....Maybe Huyndai finally makes the jump or maybe even VAG surprises us all....

Unless someone's been working in secret, it's unlikely. Mercedes, Ferrari and Renault has been working on these engines for a year or so now. Craig Pillock and his PURE team seem to have gone to the shits.

Someone asked why Austin?
The simple answer is it's the only FIA Grade 1 track presently in America.

Honda engineers recently said that the 1.6 turbo they're developing for WTCC would be a good base for a potential F1 engine. Not that the engine would be easily adapted to F1 but they would gather enough data for the 2014 specs.

Wouldn't be too surprised if they actually have an engine already

why 1999? Wasn't that one boring as hell? You may have meant 1997.

As for that long right-hand turn with all the apexes, I think it's going to be an easy flat righthander. A bit like that long right-hander at Fuji. Only less banked.

Do you mean 100R? If that's the case, I'm not sure it was flat out even in qualifying and the banking there(Fuji corner in question) is quite little isn't it, anyway?

ok, I don't want to troll things around here with this but just as curiosity, what was his attempt of mockery towards Australia and you? I say attempt because I don't see how anyone could really have reasons to mock either you or Australia. And it's hard to picture the guy in question managing to really mock anything, btw

But it could have been built almost anywhere in the US.

It was built in Austin because, as Dave pointed out, that's where Tavo is from.

Which is a good thing. Austin back on the international sporting map after the last fellow went down the toilet.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

I'm just not sure what sense it would make for Honda. They're probably still reeling from the way they exited in 2008 and the financial market hasn't really improved that much.

It would be cool to have more variety in terms of engine manufacturers, although the regulations mean that the engines are quite similar. I mean, Renault has a power deficit but they usually benefit in terms of traction. You rarely get 'Engine X will suck here for x reason' any more.

The very fact that Brawn could adapt the BGP001 with a Mercedes engine, in a car designed for a Honda powertrain, is a sign of that.

I used to go to the Australian GP on a Friday with General Admission and cost me around $30. For that you could stand about 5 metres away from the cars, turn 3 is my choice, fantastic! plus you had a shit load of support races and entertainment going on around the track, you could wander around the back of the paddock and see the support cars and garages and go through a make shift museum.
The last time I went was 2003 though...so it might have changed! But a 4 day GA concession ticket was around the $100 mark back then as well...maybe that is the reason why it can`t make money, they haven`t adjusted for 9 years worth of inflation!!! infact price DEflation!

Mindfuck of the year! Thank you sir 8O

A similar epiphany happened to me recently with a famous french supermarket chain (Carrefour):

It's actually the letter "C" in white. Took me about 8 years to realise that.

What I'm wondering is what's more likely; McLaren staying with Mercedes, going with Honda or building it's own engines?

I wonder if McLaren would opt for an unproven engine. Then again, Honda does have a good trackrecord

I realised that with Carrefour last year. Still took me about 12 or so years to see.

A-Style is the best, surely...

Back on topic, the FIA has decided to give the journalists a field day by putting the drivers with undecided futures in the press conference tomorrow - Senna, Hulkenberg, Karthikeyan and Kovalainen. Kimi + Jev as well.
