In all honesty the 3 truck still had forward momentum at the time of the finish. He wasn't stopped. I think it was great of all the other trucks to avoid him. And wait, don't most of you like racing back to the checkered? It's not like he was on the track. So did you guys want a caution? Or a race to the finish? Sorry I'm just confused. Would you have wanted a caution as much if Peters didn't lead every lap? Not trying to stir shit, just curious. I liked that there was no caution, he was out of harms way.

I was surprised that Nascar didn't throw the yellow for Ty Dillon. I guess they figured he was off the racing line. Great run for Ross Chastain tonight. It's nice seeing some different names towards the front.

I would love a caution BEFORE the white flag, ofcourse.

If they'd thrown the caution, more drivers would have run out for the next GWC. They dodged the bullet when Ty ran out and by the time the field came around again he was on the apron out of the way. No reason to throw the caution. For once NASCAR made the correct call.

So, from where I sat in the stands last night, Bristol still sucks! Mods will always be great on this style configuration though.

They should just pave Bristol with dirt.

It's not like it used to be pre-2007, but I found last night's race to be better than it was before... with the big packs of trucks, it kinda looked like a plate race a few times. Wreckin' does not equal better racin' - better racin' equals better racin'. There was a fair amount of passing last night (just not for the lead, not NASCAR or Bruton's fault there), whereas there was barely any passing in the Spring race.

I was more worried about him getting clobbered as he was being passed on both sides by accelerating trucks. It was a great job by all of those guys though for it to not happen. It was probably too late for them to wave the green off though. That likely would have caused an even bigger wreck.

^^^ Word.

Make the cars harder to drive, take away Hans devices and SAFER barriers, too... and no, I'm not kidding. Well, not entirely. Current rules, safety and the ability to do all-around dumb shit has made this sport and its participants different than they've ever been, and it's all a product of February 18th, 2001.

I still enjoy racing, but it's a different sport than I fell in love with, that's for damn sure. :( Also, I wasn't a Dale Earnhardt fan, so I'm not one of "those people", I just think that his death was sort of the beginning of the downhill slide.

END RANT. Sorry folks, that was kinda random.

Well considering you said Dale's death lead to the downhill slide of NASCAR, why would you want to get rid of HANS devices and SAFER barriers? Those 2 together would have prevented his death.

I was fine with last night's race, overall. Sucked that the leader never really came under much pressure but the rest was good.

NASCAR will continue to get shittier, and there won't be a major positive change for at least 5 years which is how long it will take for corporate sponsorship to properly dry up as a result of the crappy show no one's watching. Once it reaches a CART-level of desperation, we might see a light at the end of the tunnel.

I highly doubt NASCAR goes CART...

It starts by showing kicking Brian France out the door.
