Anyone been to Zandvoort during F1? I´m there at this moment, free entrance, some local clubraces going on so perfect time to discover the track. I notice that it has a lot of real good viewing spots where you can see different parts of the track at the same time. Is that also the case during F1, or is the view blocked by grandstands, fences and banners?

Things I would never thought possible at the start of the year.

In the last 3 races:
McLaren 104 points
Red Bull 74
Ferrari 70
Mercedes 53
Aston 13

Really puts into perspective just how bad Sergio Perez has been (and Aston), that despite two race wins for Max in that period they have been outscored by 30 points. It gets WAY more damning for Perez when you consider that since McLaren bought the updates to its car from Austria (9 races) Perez has scored 98 points, Norris 124 points and Piastri 78 points.

I have, I was there yesterday as well ;)

Regarding viewing spots, everything from Slotemaker to T9 is General Admission and will be available as it was yesterday. However, it will be BUSY. So if you want a good spot you’ve got to be there early, and walking around isn’t as easy. The other spots around the track will mostly be occupied by grandstands, except for T13, which isn’t officially part of General Admission but you can simply walk over and watch from the dunes over there. It’s quite a good spot as well

No way! There were about 20 spectators and you were one of them?

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

I love anyone who wants more teams and fewer races (however, by "fewer" I don't think Ben Sulayem means fewer Middle East rounds).
And he dreams of 12 teams? I thought the limit has always been 13. If USF1 had happened, we would have seen 26 cars in 2010. Interesting that back then there was no opposition to new teams, afaik.

Oh yeah, it'll mean losing good tracks not the soulless Middle East monstrosities.

is their wet dream, fill the summer slots with middle eastern races running during the night so it can be shown later in the day in the US

I was there only for the afternoon races though, doing some filming at Masters. Some friends of minr were racing in the MX5s. I myself had a long day with the 206 GTi cup the day prior!

They actually removed a lot of foliage prior to F1 this year too, creating many more great spots around the track

Yep bring back the good ol' tyre stacks from 1996. At least the drivers would be able to see them!

I don't know why each track can't just have a two meter wide strip of grass or really heavy duty astro turf along the outside of each corner, followed by asphalt and then gravel. Or simply just make the curbs not as wide. An F1 car is 2 meters wide. Make the curbs 1.5 wide. I think that is most of the problem. Drivers get sucked out to the very edges of them because they are so wide.

Yeah, he's awkward and says stupid things. But most of his ideas he comes up with for F1 I agree with (more teams, less races in this case)

if they could do something like that old game ToCA race driver that automatically spinned you when you tried to gain advantage on track limits (or simply damage your suspension)

funny that we all know the solutions that aren't expensive or can lead to track disruption but they keep on insisting in the ones that lead to bad outcomes

He's been doing the same old stuff for decades now. This is probably the only one they had enough to get him on. Mans been a shady global deal maker since the 90s.
Age and Wealth are the only reason he isn't in prison.
