He edged ahead for a split second but was under the yellow line.

I mean he went down there to avoid being a part of the wreck so from that perspective he did a good job, no idea why he was being considered for the win though...

7/10 race, some great side by side action through the first two stages and half of the third but too long single file towards the end

Winner, Winner, Beef Dinner.

Dude can only win at Daytona, Talladega, & Atlanta but he sure does make the most of those races.

The whole "Determine the Winner by Committee Meeting" feels like too common an occurrence at Daytona/Talladega. Honestly if the wreck's already halfway around a track that big, the guys still running at the checkered flag have more than enough time to get stopped/slowed down before rolling to the accident scene. Just let them finish.

No he'd be put to the back of the lead lap, not DQ.

Yeah I've never really understood it. Anything after turn 2 should be long enough to slow down.

Think it's more they need the track to not be live so they can send an immediate medical response to the accident and not have ambulances etc racing onto a "live" track

IF there was a life or death scenario and the investigation revealed the driver or other injured party could've been saved if they'd thrown the yellow 45 seconds earlier to allow the rescue teams to start heading to the accident, NASCAR would be sued into oblivion

As ever with America, the rules are written by lawyers first, everything else second.

(Also the broadcast had a hard enough time dealing with a flipping car AND cutting back to two cars vying for the lead despite the caution already being out, there's no way they'd be able to handle 2 things happening simultaniously so all that would probably happen is they'd mash the button on the vision mixing software and it'd be a confusing mess, so maybe we didn't miss out too much.....)

That was cool to see Greg Van Alst win the ARCA race. Nice to see an owner-driver with limited sponsorship win one. Fun fact, his crew chief Jim Long, was Ricky Rudd's crew chief when he won the 1997 Brickyard 400 and Terry Labonte's crew chief when he won the 2004 Southern 500 for his last NASCAR victory. Frankie Muniz went from 24th to 11th in the final 2 laps.

This NASCAR CGI shitfest they have on TV looks better than the most recent NASCAR console game.

Can't believe they didn't have the Kodak #4 (that won three damn Daytona 500s) in there.

I think there was something about him having alopecia(however it's spelled)? Same thing as Will Smith's wife.

Surprising a few winners weren't there. Marlin I get with his health issues...Mikey wasn't up there hogging the limelight surprisingly. No Cope, Irvan, Ward Burton either.
