It could work if they still keep the wind tunnel/CFD restrictions as well as allocating X amount of days to young drivers. I'd imagine that if the teams could run some items on the track early on in the development phase rather than go through the whole development phase before putting it on the track, it could save them time and money if they had to design an item completely before on track testing, only to find out that it doesn't work and have to start again.

If they could run it half way through its development phase they might be able to identify issues and correct them earlier, rather than doing a whole development cycle first. If they kept the same CFD/tunnel restrictions costs wouldn't spiral out of control like in the past.

But this is wishful thinking and trying to apply F1 logic, I know.

Is the incredibly low amount of pre season testing days still because of cost saving reasons? Would be a bit ironic as they will have to fly around the world for about 50 times this season.

Great read about that really long Brazil race, back in the day, and why Fisichella's car caught fire at the end: https://the-race.com/formula-1/the-full ... st-f1-win/

I hope they use the good old Cosworth brand.

Ford's confirmed officially now, just the link to Red Bull left.

Lmao at these presenters. They mumble some strange language ( can't call it English) and they just announced Domenicale to the stage, they waited a few minutes, and then said he's not there. The budget cap fine is hitting red bull hard already

Did it say Ford's actually going to be supplying the engines? Pretty sure the engines will still be designed and built by Red Bull Powertrains, but with some level of collaboration with Ford particularly on the battery/electric side of things.

Sigh.....a 2022 F1 car going around the track. Oh cool. A V8 going around the track. Bloody Hell!! A V10 going around the track. Oh Dear God!!! I'll crawl back under my rock now lol.

Modern F1 is much faster, but paradoxically because of the extra weight they look far slower. Shave off 100kgs and a modern F1 car, even with crap sounding engine and Halo would look awesome on track. They just look like fast trucks now especially with the stupid 18 inch rims.

For all of the excitement of the Gulf sponsorship, it seems to be a logo on the rear wing endplate....

I wonder if they are going to logically extend the fake launch trend by not even using this livery.

I like the Duracell battery on top. Gulf is on nose too, ahead of driver. Can't tell the exact colours from that brightly blue lit room though!
