This vignette effect (familiar from WEC) is so irritating. Effective screen estate is barely 2/3 of the image.

i guess that's one positive of the NBC coverage is that we won't see that outside of support series & at-track here in the States

I know this question will probably be annoying to people who pay a lot more attention to me...but what was the point of changing from LMP1 to GTP/Hypercar when the cars look mostly the same and aren't any faster?

Cutting costs and attracting new manufacturers. They might look the same, but LMH are way less complex and expensive to develop than the old hybrid LMP1.

Not to mention LMDhs/GTPs, which are basically spec chassis with reworked bits and works engines and branding.
