Time to allow customer cars. The "build your own car" philosophy that has underpinned F1 since it started is the problem.

Bernie killed the customer cars in the early 80s and with the sport being dominated by manufacturers these days there's a much smaller chance of these big companies allowing customer cars back. They would rather field a junior team like Alpha Tauri instead.

I couldn't see genuine customer cars working in F1. Satellite teams work reasonably well in MotoGP because the rider makes for a much larger percentage of performance so not having the latest updates or being on the previous seasons machinery still gives you a chance at podiums or wins. In F1 that's not the case. The cars make up for a larger percentage of overall performance and it's not viable to produce twice the qty of upgrades in order for customer teams to remain genuinely competitive. They would be grid fillers and never anything more. At least with our current backmarkers there's always the possibility they can hire the right people to become something.

Is Red Bulls fine part of the budget cap of this year? I can´t seem to find info on this. If it is, then it basicly is a 14 million dollar fine. 7 million to the FIA, and 7 million less to spend this year which possibly will get them over budget again because we are so close to the end if the season.

Max has finally had enough of Slotover's crap and is no longer doing any press for Sky.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

I happened to catch that bit of the notebook. Beyond embarrassing that he's still talking about the title being "robbed" nearly a year later. Seems to bring it up almost every event.

Sky really thinks the entire F1 fanbase is only watching their coverage? It's obvious they are heavily UK-biased and can't get over Abu Dhabi 2021 but Kravitz is a fucking pit reporter. His banter shtick got outdated many moons ago. Nobody will die on this hill least of all someone like Verstappen who is clearly exactly what FIA wants.

the 2021 title might have been allegedly robbed? Perhaps

Are Red Bull and Verstappen liable for that? nope

so I guess they cannot be verbal against the FIA right, because their contracts disallow and telling of wrongdoing?

Sky should have stuck to their guns a couple of years ago and kept Kravitz fired. He is such a twat. Take Lazenby with him.

In a new effort to make something of his F1 career.

As much as I want to see him in a race seat again, it´s not gonna happen anymore.

But didnt they sigh Drugovich for basically the same role already?

I'm a bit puzzled why another Mercedes reserve decides to leave however. De Vries already joined AT so that would move up Vandoorne.

Yes there has been whispers that Ricciardo would come in for the reserve role but that has quiet down over the last few weeks and last I read is that he might actually end up at RBR for that role.

Yes, Drugo was signed for a similar role. However, in his case he will follow the team at just some races. Surely there is room for another driver to take part in the program. And probably Vandoorne will bring some more cash which is always welcome.

But the point is Aston Martin not necessarily needs cash, but needs more people able to give a better imput for development.

They are hiring several people but only in a few years we might see if their investments will pay

Perhaps the bigger story is not whether Vandoorne or Drugovich will be the lead reserve driver, but the fact that AM had to find a new one at all. It implies that the current one is heading elsewhere...
