I know it's ugly, I know it's not traditional... I don't care. I'm very glad to have the HALO and the Aeroscreen in Indycar.

Also, we can probably assume that Halo saved 2 lives today.

Would've been Imola 94 levels of tragedy :o

So any more protesters planning to interrupt the race? I hope this will be the last red flag of today.

Apparently the marshals didn’t pander to the entitled pricks unlike the Police and media do and just picked them up and dragged them off the track.

If they were in the Hangar straight, there was no need to show that bit of the track at the start anyway.

Halo is doing a good job and so but I still believe that it's enabling some drivers to be more reckless. Racing cars is still a dangerous activity and what we saw in F2 today should not be happening

Is the halo even supposed to do anything in rollover accidents?

It's supposed to be strong front on to prevent debris hitting the driver, did they looking into making it strong enough to be a backup rollhoop?

Is there anything to theorise that they had to make the roll hoop less effective because they would rather the car rests on the halo while upside down? It definitely would've changed the dynamics of a rollover accident tbh, they must've had to look into it :?

Yes but I think they are starting the race from lap 2?

This will end up being a boring race then unless the rain does come

Worst case scenario: Rain threatens to come but doesn't come, so teams run around as slow as possible trying to extend their pit window for a change to wets that never happens... :slaphead:

They said halo can take a london bus on top, so it's definitely strong enough for a flip.

Never heard of the roll hoop regulations being lessened since Halo. Interesting point there about how it changes the car attitude during the flip. The FIA will study this crash closely, it's not a desirable outcome

Halo works well on flips, keeps the car leveled and helps driver to exit

Looks like they've gone against their own rules to punish Lewis and Max for their good starts...

Good old Ferrari International Assistance :whistling:
