Nothing surprising, my wife went from positive to negative in two days.

My GF has become a bit of a "Nico Bottas" fan (going back to a funny joke she played on my old F1 podcast when Bottas replaced Rosberg and she wound me up that she didn't know the difference between the two and I naievely fell for it) but is otherwise quite bemused by why this sport is so important to me

She'll happily sit and watch it with me and says she enjoys seeing me passionate about something...(wait.... :o )
But I know she's not watching it when I'm not around lol

I'm just happy I've found someone that will enable my addiction instead of whine about not being able to go anywhere on a Sunday or just find the whole thing sad and geeky like past relationships I've had

Anyway, this also isn't on the strict topic of the race this weekend so I'm still furious we're off topic ;)

Normal service shall be resumed:

Sucks that it's not Melbourne!

@Aussies if you tell me it rains anywhere near Melbourne at any point this weekend, I shall be even more furious!

My wife couldn't care less about F1. Thankfully F1 usually happens in the morning here, so it doesn't clash with other appointments that usually happen in the afternoon.

just like when asked about getting married, Wolfgang von Trips just pointed to one of the Ferraris and said "I'm married to one of those"

And, just like marriage in real life, it killed him.

Those people that are brought to the race track for the director to cut to, and away from the action at important moments of the race.

"Hey, one of the drivers has a girlfriend in the paddock, station a camera on her at ALL TIMES in case she reacts to what she's seeing on track, so we can ignore the action that's making her excited in favour of watching her be excited about something we can't see"

-Every race TV director, ever

Drive to Survive converted my girlfriend and she wants to watch it live. More often than not she falls asleep by lap 10 but sometimes she does get invested.

She won't watch anything else though, just tolerates my attention to it.

dam, McLaren livery is quickly getting ruined more and more, first they removed more of the orange, and now Christmas tree wheel covers

I don't even know how to pronounce that name. Is it Lar-bhal-e-steer, Larbel-eh-steer, Lar-bale-styer???

Oh and my wife didn't even change her name when we got married. Granted she is Chinese so would have been weird as fuck for her going back to China with an uber white name. I couldn't give a toss.

My wife is into F1 and stays up with me for some of the races, but is also annoyed when I don't want to get up with the kids the next morning. So unfair!

They've gone from having one of the best liveries to one of the worst. And with their testing issues, I'm struggling to maintain my McLaren hype
