yeah, it was actually by Indycar rules, perhaps it was quite dangerous to do the old banked turn after the straight

F1 drivers and teams doing an Indycar race in Japan. In the 60s. On Fuji circuit. Racing opposite direction.

Fuji was originally supposed to be a dedicated oval circuit for NASCAR and Indy Car but funding was an issue. Here's a cool sim racing video that explains it nicely.

That was Riccardo Paletti, lost his life at the start of the next race, in Montreal.

great photo, it was from the days when Williams had BL sponsorship. Fortunatelly they never had developed a F1 engine

I think Larini was close to get a point in that dog of a car. Maybe a couple of points would've been realistic.
