Yeah. No show, but don't turn off your broadcast! Look at this 1998 start crash and medical car doing laps! Hurray for safety! But like and subscribe!

Isn't it better for us? We might get a race. I like flexibility when it favors spectators

wouldn't that rule bending open dangerous precedents in the future??

Yeah I went back and edited my comment, I agree with ignoring it but don't know why it existed in the first place

The fact that it's at a triple header is certainly a factor in all of this. A Monday race would be possible if there was a gap in between.

Why hand out points at all costs? It's a lot more fair to everyone to cancel it and give zero.

Starting 2 laps would be effectively giving points based on a qualifying result. It's fucking bullshit.

Either cancel it or pretend you did those 2 laps and hand out the points. Going out for 2 points is like fucking for virginity

Well they're part of the way there lol. Surely if you have the power to pause the clock, just ignore it completely and run the full race...

Nah, they are selling their "virginity" for the highest bidder. And we are the poor suckers in the line hoping a guy in front of us bails.

I go do some lawn mowing with real naturally aspirated petrol engine to get my kicks for my addiction.

Funny thing is they actually started a race (twice lol) in 1998 with conditions like these.
I never saw that race live, but if I was 34 back then I would think that's mad.

Ferrari could have a say on this as they are starting below the top 10

I like this idea of stopping the clock. They could hand this randomly to a driver every race and this driver could stop his clock for some seconds in the quali lol

It wasn't mad at all. Suzuka 1994 started in similar bad conditions too before they put the red flag out. Brundle had a big off in that one which he mentioned earlier today.

Just cancel the event today, it's hopeless. Let everyone go back to their homes/hotels and get warm/dry. Hold the race tomorrow. Make Zandvoort into a 2-day event.

The drivers thought it as well, especially Rubens who hurt his arm during the crash.

Funnily enough, in 1997, the race started under a full wet but drying track (under sunshine) and they used the safety car for a couple laps.
