How about this. Put the fans in the middle of the track, remove the seats, and race around the bowl.

it would be a mess having 40 cars on a 3/8th mile track

Where've you been? A mess is exactly what constitutes a good NASCAR race these days. Stage racing, fake yellas, double-file restarts, GWC...

Nothing bigger than a sprint car should run any track smaller than half a mile, IMO. Shit's slow and plodding and boring.

disagree to a extent. The factors of track width / groove width & banking is a bigger key than overall distance IMO.

Late Models & Modifieds (regardless if it's Northeast or Midwestern styles) are way bigger than Sprints, and generally put on good racing on 1/5th, 1/4 & 3/8th miles (especially the wider ones) - regardless if it's the asphalt or dirt variant. And that's with the dirt variant of LM's on par with winged sprint cars in the aero department these days (but what else do you expect with a car that's shaped like a banana)

don't disagree that flat + narrow 1/4 sucks for big / heavy / underpowered stock cars (went to BG for the final K&N race, pretty lackluster - both in the passing & tomfoolery departments)

Slow, plodding and boring describes so many races over the last 15 years.

Looks alright IMO. Not sure why there’s so much fuss. Hardly seems the most pressing issue in the world of NASCAR.

I'm not usually opposed to change where it needs to happen but this seems like fucking with an iconic part of NASCAR for very minor sponsorship gains. Big colourful door numbers right under the window are one of the most recognisable aspects of the sport, and with sponsors now changing every week are pretty much the only way left to tell drivers apart. To me this hits the visual appeal of the sport more than anything since the COT.

they went too far forward for my tastes

if it was a slight drift to where the leading edge of the number starts at the door edge / window opening while keeping the same number size, it would look great

-

all in all - the paint scheme changes are just stir fry compared to everything else that is changing with the NextGen car

That just looks...off. Numbers belong in the middle of the car. That's how it's always been. It'll be one of those things where everywhere calls it ugly for a little bit, then people get used to it and don't give a shit anymore. Or, it ends up looking so ugly and people bitch and complain enough and NASCAR will go back on it. That being said, it will look hilariousl if Dogecoin ever sponsors a car again and it ends up barrel rolling down the back straight.

-Independent rear suspension
-Going from 15 inch wheels to 18 inch BBS alloys
-Sequential 5 speed transmission(Like touring cars)
-Clamp-on refueling system (No more big ass canisters)

Those are some pretty major changes. Didn't realize they were changing up the car that much.

Completely spec car where everything is bought is the biggest change of all. So many people here in the Charlotte area are getting laid off because of this car.

the full spec & supplier list on this article:
https://www.autoweek.com/racing/nascar/ ... ost-rules/

They reverted back to the traditional refueling system - for now anyways
