Ver could have backed off and let Ham have it. Think about the points. There's a long way to go in the season. Every point matters.

Does he forget that his golden boy is a race and change in front and should be points racing. Ham had more to lose.

Or a 7 time champion could have been more patient.

Hamilton probably comes in front of Bottas after the penalty when leaving pitstop.

I think he wanted to get in front because of the garbage aero

Charles getting an early Christmas present. Hopefully Ferrari don’t botch it.

Looked like a gust of wind to me.

Hamilton's penalty was soft. RBR will revenge when it counts.

Neah, he can still win this race with a 10 sec. penalty.

That penalty is about right. He deserved a penalty but the "race ban" and all that foolishness is far too much. Remove the outcome of the transgression from the transgression itself and 10 seconds is about right. Had Verstapen only spun the car and continued, I doubt the outcry would be as bad.

That point goes both ways mate. From a neutral, I think it was an overly aggressive first lap from both championship contenders. Which is great as a fan, we want to see them going toe-to-toe and neither giving up an inch. Which is what happened today. And there was just as much onus on Hamilton to back-off and live to fight another day in his bid to get an 8th title.

Why would the car in front have to back off?
