wrong, the only game allowed for bureaucrats at service of the motherland is Tetris

Believe it or not, he is trying to do so, but he's not been successful.

I have a feeling they would have decided quite differently if Haas was back to their early days form and Mazepin was actually impressive as well.

I think so.

We had Kvyat, Sirotkin, and Petrov before him. Would love to know how his fellow countrymen handled this situation because I never heard this coming as an issue for them.

that generally happens at the airport. Kid lands on his dad's jet and well suited men in a black Mercedes are waiting for him to take him to board an Antonov in an air force base right to Yakutsk or Sakhalin

Random statistic that I just noticed: Lando Norris has started 44 races, and in 30 of them he finished in the points. I find that impressive.

Some insiders (not very reliable sources) claim that Hamilton is really close to a retirement (considering he ends up with the championship this year)

if that really happens (which I doubt), then is both Mercedes seats will be replaced, to coincide with the end of this era

It would be a shame if Lewis retired.

Hulkenberg tbh

Though somehow he'll still miss the podium

Wouldnt they keep Bottas if Hamilton indeed retires? Some stability surely would benefit them.

Don't be using your voodoo logic here. This is a place reserved for speculation and arm chairing.

Either way, rumor has it that Wolf wants the deal with Hamilton to be done by the 15th, aka tomorrow.

I wonder if they have the balls actually kick him out (for 2022) if he doesn't accept their "final" offer by tomorrow or will they sit there like an obedient puppy waiting until he makes an actual decision.

Why would one want to have balls to kick the best driver of the grid out of its own team?

because at one point they have to make moves for their own future. Rosberg already put them in some sort of pickle with his sudden retirement. Lewis kept it to the very last minute this year.
At some point the good drivers will be locked in and it will cost them a fortune to buy out the contract. And the other teams will ask absolute top dollar if it happens.

Mercedes without Lewis would potentially be looking at 0 wins so far this season. Lewis is important but can they risk going into 2022 with Bottas and yet podiumless Hulkenberg for example?

If Russell is already locked in for 2022 and Bottas' future with Mercedes depends on what Hamilton does, the situation already is quite different however.

Hulkenberg is done. He could be asked again for a one off emergency, but no team will attract him for multiple year deals anymore. I see Ocon or Vandoorne getting a fulltime seat at Mercedes before Hulkenberg.
