another great take on the Miami street racing scene could be taken from this old Miami Vice episode featuring Danny Sullivan

I am very sorry for the awful sound editing they did back in 1985

As someone with no knowledge of F&F lore, it confuses me how a franchise can shift from "interstate chases in gaudy-ass big-winged Civics and Lancers" to "jump a million-dollar Lykan Hypersport through two skyscrapers in Dubai" or "The Rock and friends on a frozen lake in Lambos and gun turret-equipped armored vehicles while being chased by a fucking submarine".

It gets even better...in the first one, one of the main plot points of the baddies is that they were selling stolen DVD players.

FALSE!

It was TV-VHS combo that they were stealing! :p

You mean the embarrassingly shitty Olympic uniforms the US has this year? lmao

No, not a meme or joke, that is really the official uniform. I feel like this country is now that crazy, racist uncle you constantly have to apologize for lol

At least the IOC isn't forcing the delegates to wear skimpy anime schoolgirl outfits :whistling:

Those look like nothing more than an advertisement for Polo. They look dated already. I got serious early 00's bro vibes from seeing it.

The latest trailer for the next movies has them strapping rockets to an American muscle car and launching two mediocre rappers into outer space.

They are just taking the piss now.

The answer to your questions is because these movies make billions of dollars and they have to out-do themselves everytime.

I think it's easier to think of them as science fiction with cars at this point. It seems a little less outlandish in that context.

I sometimes struggle to take shows seriously, which try and portray high speed with little more than "canned" engine noise and shaky camera work. Mute it and all sense of speed evaporates :D

F1....We are racing in Miami!!!!!! Yes!!!!!........Then proceeds to put on a race in a car park that's a 3 way love child between Valencia, Korea and Abu Dhabi and looks like pretty much every other new track.

Give us what we want. Give us a track next to the ocean ala Surfers Paradise. One that has character.

Did anyone expect anything less. It is a typical Tilke track.

It's like "Russians have Sochi. So we have to have something identical."
Currently, the only worthy street track is Baku (along with Monaco). Even Singapore is kinda a bore.
