A 305km race would be 93 laps long. That's what I want.

Just scrap laps and go to a timed race, keep the teams on their toes over distance.

a timed race at Monaco? Hamilton will drive like a grandma and a train will form behind him

until someone loses the patience and rams someone trying to pass

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Fernando Alonso has been injured in a cycling accident in Switzerland, where he was hit by a car.

He's apparently awake and alert and undergoing scans, but multiple fractures are suspected.

Goddamnit. There goes his season, at least the spring. :( But the main thing there's no brain injury, although it might be too early to say. That would be absolutely terrible.

Hoping for a speedy recovery.

What's circling around is between bruising, lost teeth or a broken jaw.

Oh Jesus, not good. Had a momentary flashback of Zanardi when I saw this. Hope the injuries are not too serious or long term.

Like with Webber, hopefully not as bad as the early rumours.

Sounds bad, but hopefully its a broken jaw and not like Webber's snapped leg that needed to be screwed back together. I feel if it is anything more than that then we may never see Alonso back in F1.

Ahhh another pre season with Alonso in a mysterious accident that might cause him to miss races.

Gives you that nostalgic feeling doesnt it?

Alpine now released a statement saying he does have a jaw fracture but should be good by the time the season starts.

The police have also mentioned the car pulled across in front of him at a supermarket entrance.

He has his head so far up Lewis' ass, it's hard for him to properly read an article.

Has police already checked the whereabouts at the time of Piquet Jr., Ericsson, Hulkenberg and Grosjean (just in case)?

I was at Silverstone in 2004 for the qualifying shambles. There was a huge cheer when Schumacher spun, but we quickly realised what was going on. I don't think the rain ever arrived during the next session, so it was all a waste of time anyway.

The current qualifying format is OK. Whilst the one lap format gave us a few mixed results, it is a very boring format if you are watching at the circuit. I like the suggestion of 60 minutes + 12 laps, but losing laps if you don't go out every 15 minutes.

Wasn't there a wet session where everybody sat in the garage waiting for the weather to improve, but somebody (Barrichello?) put in an early banker and ended up on pole? May have been Magny Cours.
