Said this before and I'll say this again. Mugello is horrible for F1. It's Imola & Catalunya on steroids. Unless San Donato offers some overtaking this will be a snoozefest. You can't pass into Correntaio & Arrabiatta due to the lack of straight ahead and Bucine is basically what New Holland looks like at Catalunya. The rest of the track is all chicanes which mirrors all the Imola demons. Sounds like 1/10 race for me with San Donato the only potential saviour but I won't bet any money on this.

Thing with Mugello is that there are still fast corners and not much tarmac, more gravel and grass.

My expectations with Mugello are very low too. I really think it's cool to have a new venue in the calendar which is also one with some tradition, but that's it. It's not a promising track definitely.

My only hope is the drivers struggling with the fact they will not be at a typical modern circuit and we have some mistakes here and there.

I think it's going to be really special. A proper variable that they haven't had the chance to simulate into oblivion. If it's boring, at least it'll be great to watch the cars go round some of those high speed corners. If it's a good race, hopefully it'll put the circuit in a good place to host more races in the future - I'd love to see a second race in Italy every year rotated between Mugello and Imola

So what? There are no straights before Arrabiatta & Correntaio so nobody will make a run. Bucine is like New Holland at Catalunya. When was the last time you saw a pass into New Holland?

I'd rather have Enna Pergusa than Mugello in F1 hands down! 8)

This. I think the circuit does make a difference. Looking forward to the possibility of Imola for the same reason.

I'd be more satisfied if they dropped Sochi and race at more italian venues

Being happy with the news of a new venue is one thing. Expecting a good race is another one totally different.

I hope I am wrong but I don't expect an awesome race there. It's just that. Actually lowering expectations is one of the best things in order to be happy.

The promoter for Sochi has announced it will have a crowd, "the largest possible".

While there is no race scheduled in the Americans, São Paulo authorities are expecting the Brazilian GP is held this year.

Their reasoning is that Brazil scary COVID numbers don't reflect what is happening in São Paulo, which I agree. São Paulo city is reopening business right now, but I have serious doubts they can be sure it will be safe in November which seems to be the period they are working with.

There is no chance Brazil is happening.

It may not be the most reliable source but according to Bild, Team Silverstone (Findia/Racing Pt/Aston Martin) have a break clause in Sergio Perez's contract which would allow them to terminate it at the end of the season for £10 million. This break clause expires at the end of the month. It's particularly relevant given the current available status of a certain four-time world champion

Also in Italy, Corriere della Sera are reporting that Binotto's about to get the boot from Ferrari and be replaced by Antonello Coletta, head of the Sporting Activity Department. Coletta has a really interesting CV - he was Sporting Director at Forti in their F3 and F3000 days, before going through Peugeot Italy and Alfa Romeo and ending up at Ferrari in 1997 as coordinator of the Ferrari Challenge Series and Corse Clienti

Don't really see how that is going to make the Ferrari any faster, but I guess a head has to roll.
It's a shame for him because he was responsible for their great engine development until he replaced Arrivabene. The mastermind behind the cheating? Perhaps...

To be honest, I'm not sure that Vettel would be that much better than Perez. Sergio has had some great results in lesser cars, and is one of the best drivers at looking after the tires. His only real weakness is being a little too aggressive in wheel to wheel contact.

I'd happily see Vettel take over Stroll's seat, though.

Yeah I'm not sure Vettel would be a good choice for on-track results. Perez is still hungry.

But Vettel is "better" for marketing or some shit.

Yeah, the ideal team up would be Vettel, using experience and intellegence that he has learnt over his time and Perez who still wants to prove himself and can put on some great performances on his day (and would be more reliable in the 1 wet race every 2 years we get atm)

However, it'll obviously be Vettel and Stroll and how long will Seb last at a team that will not build itself around him in favour of Daddies boy...
