Don't mind Sky (Paul di Resta is dry as all shit, but tolerable), but I seriously hope they stop interrupting broadcasts to talk to team managers on pit walls. I know they have to fill gaps, don't do it that way. They don't really have a clue what's going on in the race (because they're focused on themselves and at most, the cars close to them, not the whole race) and they give boring press conference answers.

When Sky are exclusively live, the amount of cutting away from the world feed in practice to showcase their own interviews/Ted's latest flight of fancy is ridiculous, I've stopped watching Sky practices pretty much because of this.

Also their intro really grates on me too. It's not so much "here's why F1 is exciting, look at all the action, potential new viewers"
but "Here's our presenters getting between you and the sport you love, aren't they great, you will love and respect them, proles"
And that song, which they still insist is appropriate for an F1 intro for some reason, really grates (and they nicked it off the BBC's 2011 closing montage too. So not even original. It makes me cringe every time I hear it)

So yeah, I hate Sky...dunno if people have picked that up?

I don't watch the pre and post race stuff (changing the start times really helped me lol) and my dad says that is about as bad on both, it's just that idiot presenter they have on C4 and his forced humour that really turns me off.

Brundle's trackside bits during practice are much better now they have a camera with him.

I guess Haas didn't even look into their Companies House bullshit to the extent that we did

Instead of looking at Companies House, you should look at the LinkedIn profiles of the company's leadership team. Rich Energy appears to be just a front for capital investment firms. William Storey has a number of businesses with a number of partners. There is still a lot of mystery surrounding Rich Energy. Let's just hope they are not another Prince Malik Ado Ibrahim.

Ha, this has Prince Malik written all over it. Even now people have replied to various new posts asking when they will be able to actually buy this 'Premium energy drink'...

So...Black/Gold livery for 2019 for HAAS? I'm cool with that.

Fair enough, I can't say I looked as hard! I would say TBK should club together and buy some, but they don't ship to Germany so it's no good for me. I still think it's a bizarre thing, to try and position an energy drink as a luxury product, but I'm no businessman myself.

The whole Rich Energy debacle is one of great interest. I somehow don't think a wiley old buisness cat such as Gene Haas would enter into a partnership with anyone without any claret behind him.

That being said, more people are talking about Rich Energy than any other energy drink bar Red Bull (TNT, Hype etc)

So William could be a massive fake.. or a genius marketer.

Sounds like Gutierrez is now in the running for the second Williams seat as they lost out on the Rich Energy Drink "money"

At this rate I wouldn't be surprised to hear Taki Inoue's name mentioned for the seat :excited:

Well he has Mercedes links and knowledge plus some Mexican money, so it’s no surprise. Like someone said elsewhere, it’s the wrong Esteban.

(Dutch) rumors even linked Nyck de Vries to the 2nd Williams but I think it’s safer to put money on vettel to be 2018 champ

Rencken skewers the clown show.

Quote:
In Mexico two team boss meetings were held. One, ‘Coffee with Chase [Carey, F1 CEO]’ on Saturday, lasted 30 minutes, with a source saying “We discussed the reasons for Miami’s [race] demise for ten minutes, that they’ll announce Hanoi for 2020 shortly, and that a race in Las Vegas could work – why he doesn’t just go ahead and do it instead of talking about it beats me.

“Then Sean [Bratches, F1 Commercial MD] taught us how to play Codemasters for 15 minutes. Nothing about 2021, nothing about budget caps, nothing about revenues.”

https://www.racefans.net/2018/10/31/why ... d-in-2021/

2 years in and they don't have a fucking clue.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

F1 is run by marketers, lawyers, and used car salesmen.
