I just read there is now a museum dedicated to Michael Schumacher.

Speaking of which, has there been any updates on his condition?
I actually went today (if it's the one in Köln you're referring to). A good selection of his cars, loads of trophies, gloves, helmets etc. Everything is very dusty because they're still building it all. Took me ages to figure out I could just walk in and ignore the people laying the floor...

They don't need wrecks. Just use the VSC.

It's amazing how many of the things brought up in this still apply to today, Especially some of the stuff raised towards the end.

It was released in 1992 but could have come out yesterday & would be just as relevant as nothing has really changed.

In Wednesdays strategy group meeting Liberty put forward a proposal to extend points to 15th or even 20th place.

They also put forward points for pole & fastest lap..... Great idea until a championship gets decided on Saturday making the race less worthwhile or until you have a situation like Formula E a few years ago with the title fight essentially turning into a mid-race time trial rather than a race.

There are things in F1 that do need sorting out but the points system isn't really one of them..... And neither is the weekend format or some of the other things been thrown about.

If I ruled F1 it would go back to points up to 6th place and scrape that crappy qualifying aka worst idea ever

What's bad about qualifying?

f1 has had a lot of shitting qualifying formats over the years, but this one has stuck because it's the best of them imo

the one lap only was way better, you cannot allow mistakes, the one we have now is bland, with tire choices on Q2, just make one sole session or just give on chance for each driver to show skills and sponsors as all cars have the same tv time on qualy

I honestly prefer the old one hour, 12 lap format. Complete with spare car just in case.

I think the qualifying system we have now is better than the format's we had prior.

The 1 hour/12 lap format was good but most of the hour tended to be fairly dull. It was better before they introduced the 12 lap limit in 1993 as you had more cars on track more often prior to that, As soon as the 12 lap limit came in you saw the issue of cars not wanting to go out & waste laps.

The single car formats was nice as far as been able to see every lap but on the whole it was quite dull, Especially for those in the stands who were only seeing 1 car on a hot lap every 90 odd seconds.

The format we have now works in that it's more or less constant action with added excitement at the end of each segment which also often tends to give us a few surprises.

Only thing i'm less keen on is the tyre rules forcing those that make it to Q3 to start on the tyres they set the fastest time on in Q2. The top 3 teams can sometimes play around a bit when they have a big advantage & are able to run harder compounds & still make Q3 but the teams that just scrape into Q3 & end up starting tail end of top 10 have to use the softest compound to do so which can disadvantage them with the cars immediately behind them 11th/12th etc.. having the freedom to start on whatever compound they wish to.

nah that one left more chances to scramble the field, is the best non gimmick qualifying, better than that only doing a random place picking :p

the actual qualifying is always the same teams starting at the front, pretty much defining the races, and also even when the qualifying sessions are good, races tend to be boring. I'd rather see shit happening and strong cars starting behind

I'm ok with Gimmick qualifying

Race action is more important that qualifying purism

2003's qualy was gimmicky i guess, and a bit boring to watch, but it did lead to some good racing.

extra point for fastest lap

ok as it could spice up a boring ending of a race for cars running in non points scoring positions going into the pit for fresh rubber, and giving it a shot for extra points

Please don't change the points scoring. Points scoring in F1 should be kept something that you have to work hard for. Otherwise the Sirotkins and Srolls of this world would score points no matter how bad they or the team are.

qualy let's keep as it is. I never liked the one lap thing, as hardly it happened someone got it wrong, and in the end we only saw 20+ timed laps. Now it is interesting to see who is where on track etc
