Williams' position is easy to understand. If FIF1 do die, the 10th place share of the WCC prize money gets divided between the rest. More money for Williams.

Even if they do find the money elsewhere, the lack of capital now will stop FIF1 from developing their car and will allow their competitors (including Williams) to move ahead. More money for Williams.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

I just find it shortsighted as they're close to being the next team in that position, and people have long memories in F1

Imagine if, hypothetically, sirotkins backers decide that buying force india is a better opportunity for him, turning it into Force Russia and take him there.
Lance Stroll's dad decided to start his own team out of the ashes of Marussia too, then Williams will be begging for this treatment this time next year

I know it's very naive to expect even the minnow teams to look out for each other, but I just thought they wouldn't be so short sighted about it, is all

Yes, I suspect Williams also have long memories. Those who live by the veto should be prepared to die by the veto, especially when it is deployed for the exact same reason (an entity holds the right to a share of prize money that would be split amongst the other teams should that entity disappear).

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/31158612

There's also the hypocrisy of FIF1 complaining about Haas leapfrogging them this year and accusing them of exploiting the rules (pro-tip; there is no such thing as the spirit of the regulations), when the only reason that they themselves moved off the very back of the grid 8 years ago is because the entire back end of the car was supplied to them by McLaren, which at the time was also legal.

Still, I will give them credit for operating with relative honour, and have not resorted to thieving money from drivers like Kalternborn did.

I think Force India also complained it was impossible to move forward without resources but at the same time bragged how well they where doing on a tiny budget.

TBH, when the namechange didnt happen it should have been a sign. The namechange would have been accompanied by a takeover and clearly this deal fell through. Possibly because the finances are worse than being told.

Let's remember who replaced JV at BMW Sauber near 12 years ago... holding a grudge perhaps?

I completely believe that JFV could hold a grudge for this long.

Kubica did more in his first race for BMW than JV had done all year!

So. Liberty Media wants to introduce a mascot for F1. Can't imagine anyting else than stereotypical F1 fan stuffed with a gigantic chili covered dick up its arse that's grabbing the fans money and shooting it up to veins. :slaphead:

why not make a mascot for each driver, so it could merchandise more among children and so

Ricciardo would be a laughing honeybadger, Kimi a block of ice, Vettel a whiny finger and Lewis a gold chain

and the series mascot like a kid super hero with a thong over his pants to make sure they're aware of halo

Ok, so F1 TV Pro is not launched yet. Fair enough. What is NOT fair, is that in France it will cost about 20euros, far from the "8 to 12 bucks" announced by Liberty earlier this year.

This due to Canal+ (featuring great pundit JV!) having the rights here, for a whopping 40 euros a month because of course you can't have a dedicated F1 package. They negotiated a deal with Liberty to allow the system to be launched in France.

Well, no thanks. Maybe for the months where there are 3 races and where I have absolutely no other plans for the 3 week-ends. I don't see that happening very often this year. Sorry Liberty, see you when Canal+ rights expire and you can give a better package similar to other countries. I'll squint through the live streams, then see details of the action on the free HD Youtube highlights  (literally every aspect of my life improved since my time as a broke student, except this one, LOL)

Despite the ban on Grid Girls, The Monaco GP organizers have apparently hired & plan to use Grid Girls.

Haha, good old Monaco. Safety? Fuck it. Free practice on Friday? Not gonna happen. Grid Girls? Ban them all you want, we'll have them.

Apparently they are also looking into expanding or altering the track in a couple of years - seems that some reclaimed land in the Portier area would be the logical choice for this:
