Never been a big fan, but I'm sure he still has lots of juice in him and would be up there if he'd be full time this year.

Dont forget to mention how that looked like:

Good grief.

-------------------

Was there an ROP session at the end of March last year, or any year? I can't remember and it seems something quite new to me.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Confirmation that NBC will be the sole broadcaster from next year. 8 races including Indy (With qualifying) on NBC with the rest on NBCSN.

Things are turning out almost too good these days... What way will IndyCar find to fuck it up this time?

Silence! Speaking shit like that out loud is the kiss of death. Though, I agree. Things are falling in line mostly the way the fans want them, Indycar is gaining attendance and TV numbers, got a broadcast partner that generally seems to give a damn... Surely a wrench will be flung into the mix here.

As for Helio's Indycar... It almost brought a tear to my eye.

Some more good news; it seems that Honda have filmed a set of adverts with Hinch that have been airing in primetime on ABC (i.e. the sort of people who don't necessarily watch Indycar but can be persuaded to, and lots of them).

Best-liveried open wheel season since F1 1999. Correct me if I'm wrong, because anything better than F1 1999 makes us all winners :D

My local ABC station, WSB-TV, has been airing a bunch of Honda ads with Hinch lately. I've actually seen more IndyCar-related ads on TV than I have NASCAR-related ads, which is strange.

Yeah, but... what if they don't this time?

Dump half the NBCSN races on CNBC when they decide NASCAR takes priority?

That's possible, but I'm not so sure. We'll have to see what the actual broadcast schedule looks like. Indycar will only conflict for maybe 8 races or so toward the end of the year. If NBC schedules smartly, they can use a few 2.5-3 hour time slots on NBC proper for the Indycars while NASCAR is on NBCSN.

Besides the usual races (Toronto & Mid-Ohio), IndyCar has been smart when scheduling their race start times so they don't go up against NASCAR (even during non-NBC portions of their schedule). Should be fine there I think.

Call me yesterday news, I didn't even know Reynard was still around in any form. Does anybody have any idea if they still build cars for whatever series?

I thought they were still gone. I love Adrian Reynard's quote though. Hopefully they'll be back as a chassis manufacturer in the future.

I have a slight downer:

With the new for 2019 TV deal, which admittedly is great for america, it seems the Youtube stream showing support races/practice and qualifying is being rolled into NBC's app from next year

So at least Americans have the chance to continue watching the full day's action, those elsewhere will probably revert to their pay channels to JUST see the bare bones race

Ho hum, if it's for the greater good I'll get over it, but I WILL Miss the youtube on my TV showing Indycar from Friday-Sunday
